Batman Arkham Asylum is great with the 360 controller, even if it is also one of the only non-FPS games I can enjoy with a keyboard.

Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light has much, [B]much[/B], better controls if you use a gamepad.
Capcom games are also better with a controller, as are most arcade-ish flight simulators (H.A.W.X for example). I guess you could play more realistic flight-sims such as IL-2 Sturmovik with one but you won't have nearly enough buttons for all the controls.

Also, if you're into space shooters then Freespace 2 (Freespace Source Code Project) is a good choice.

I bought a Logitech controller for $30 and it's very good.

GTA4 and Mafia 2 are good ones. I also found that DR2 is much better with a 360 controller than with a mouse.
