There used to be this application for the American Focus Group Test but it's not up.
I have no idea how they will pick out new ones this time.
For the European test I think being registered at the forums is enough to have a chance.

The Community Play Event will have people chosen from the community, I believe. A small amount of people.
Also, the grindfest is almost non-existent, as I've stated. The game is fucking easy.
I'm shocked this thread isn't as popular as ones like Rift, it looks like a really decent game but I guess it's preference..
Does anyone know if there is going to be an age rating? just out of curiosity seeing as 9 out of 10 women outfits are basically string-like

I believe the game will be released with an M rating. I don't see why the ratings matter, it has never stopped me from playing any game; beside, the ratings are stupid anyways.
And yes, I don't understand why TERA isn't as popular as some of the other games in this section. Rift is released, so there's much more talk about. We're talking about PRE-BETA stuff here, so there isn't as much buzz. In time, though. In time.

Personally, the higher the rating, the better. Allowing gore, nudity, drugs and all other shit that is rated 'top shelf'
not only that but less chance of parents buying the game for their kids, at least I'd hope.

TERA is pretty much finished anyways, but I don't think En Masse would let ratings stop them. They know their game is mature and they want it to be that way.

My only fear is the whole final fantasy look on everything (which from pictures and videos, it is) but I guess that should be expected from a far-east game, hell it's still got my attention. I even tried googling how to get into the korean open beta but looks like you need a Korean ID.. Looks like i'm waiting for the EU/US betas

The Korean open beta is long over. The game was released officially in Korean on January 25th.
The next event is in March. A second, larger event will be coming in April/May/June. From there on, the beta cycle will begin - there is absolutely zero information on that.
I like almost all of the art style, the general look and feel of the game, but I just simply don't like the Elin.
Ruined it when they put pants on the Elin.

Oh so this isn't the NA Community Play Event on April 2nd-3rd?
Tera is a great game so far, i'm in the focus group tests, and i must say it's amazing to play so far. When we just experienced the levels 1-15 (rest of them was still in korean or w/e language) the game was FUN, even just leveling up and beating the monsters was extremely fun though we didn't even meet any challenging ones, except a couple of bosses!
The combat system is simply amazing, and just dueling is a lot of fun, they take hell of a time, because we were low level ofcourse so it was hard to land combos.
For everyone who's saying "Tera is korean = grind" that's the complete opposite, they're are currently "westernizing" their version of the korean Tera. The korean version of Tera takes a lot of grind, and probably will be slower in leveling, but 1-15 was fun and didn't take as long time as expected. The big thing here is that the system is rather new, and it's rewarding, i can't wait for new tests for it to come, and ofcourse the game itself.
Also the way they want group pvp to happen is awesome, we tried a couple of group duels, and it's REALLY fun. the graphics are stunning, i've never seen an MMO like it on max graphics, it's really insane. And they got hot chicks in it as well. ;)
So far from what i've seen inside the tests and from the forums etc. this might become REALLY big, and i certainately hope so!

If anyone should happen to be interested, as some might know, the next FGT is coming soon, and since i'm in it people onn the site have been asking for livestreams and things like that, if the FGT is NOT under the NDA i will be livestreaming most of the weekend it's up and i will be taking suggestions for specific races and class combinations for anyone interested! :)

That's what most of the streams are - so make yourself different by playing something irregular.

I wish more effort went onto the pants, look kinda tacky as it just looks like they textured the actual legs instead of adding any details. Unless it's meant to be an example of what's going to happen (censor).
