Why is video game music better then most other music today? - Games

That's because you folks aren't Disney Parks music fan. Bitch this year has been the best for us.

While I do think there have been some amazing video game soundtracks, I think one of the reasons video game music seems so good is the fact that you listen while you play. i.e. Suicide Mission from ME2 would be an great piece of music no matter where you heard it, but hearing it while saving the galaxy during the intense final battle of an epic 30 hour game makes it something special.

Does anyone else think that the music from Afterlife in ME2 was amazing? Sometimes I'd sit in the club and just listen, not doing anything. Especially the lower level.

I have it on my MP3, listen to it practically everywhere: subway, cafe, library, etc.

I suppose if you listen to nothing but shit outside of video games, then it's easy to compare. HL2 had some good numbers, and morrowind does have a good theme, but these are different leagues of music. I only really listen to classic rock and blues anymore, can't go wrong with that.
