There's a SPUF thread and people are saying the update is making them crash when trying to load a save game.

Yeah, I tried sticking Eli Roth's face on it :L instead of having the game face of Vito.
EDIT: Realised vito's proper face behind the one i put on was still showing through, should look bit better now.

Got this a few days ago, fun game, anyways-
I was playing through the game when I noticed after a little while (around chapter 4 i think) all the whites became really washed out and generally glitchy looking. I looked around on the internet and the only thing I could find said to disable desktop composition under the games shortcut. I did that and everything looked normal. Well now later it started to happen again (around chapter 13). Desktop composition is still disabled. I tried running the game in window mode and it didn't fix it.
Anyone have this issue?

yeah pretty much. But they didn't finish it and hid it, so some dude made that mod that unlocks the option in the "New Game" section.
I ain't completed the game yet as i been busy but the story i've really liked so far. The downfall of this game is that there wasn't much to do outside the story so I hope future DLC sorts this out.

its a mode that 2K CZECH used in debugging the game, or so I believe, that
was unlocked through a mod of the GUI etc.
Free ride mode doesn't have a story, it's just you in the city and you can choose joe or henry to follow you.
So unlike the Story mode, everything is unlocked for you?

Might work thru lua console, ain't working for steam version thou.
