Played through this at my friends on Xbox, pretty good. I don't understand why people are comparing the graphics to GTAIV though, doesn't look nearly as good. The facial animation even in cutscenes is poorly done, the car damage isn't that great and the shadows are blurry. The vehicle physics are great though, especially on Simulation mode.

It's due to be said. Console, that's to blame for the bad graphics. The wrecking physics are awesome with mods.

Damn. I just picked up a Walker on my way to the Tongs. When the fight started, the explosion of the car next to it caused the Walker to blow.
I was so disappointed. :sigh:

The garage cars did not show up properly, mine had alot of cars with only name without car image and detail.

I modded the file that has the leather jacket for jimmy, not vito.
I didn't just stick jimmy's head on vito, because well thats impossible AFAIK.
2K were to lazy to make jimmy have different clothes and different animations.

I beat the game just now.

The story was kind of nice but it was lacking the atmosphere of the prequel, which was superior in every way. Still the game is great and it was quite worth the playthrough.[/sp]

damn good fun. Will definitely buy. On 360, since my pc is shit.
Dropping in with my opinion here, I played up to chapter 6 and found the game to be pretty boring, apart from the wanted system, which is the best i've ever seen in a game, it didn't seem to bring anything new or interesting that I hadn't seen before, perhaps there are some further developments in the story that make it worth it, but I couldn't sit through it so I wouldn't know.

The chapters get funner and more interesting as you progress

Yeah when you progress throughout the story it gets far more interesting.

I think I understand why people were disappointed with this game.
Besides the disturbing lack of content, people expected Mafia II to be about a guy joining the Mafia and doing jobs for the mob. Mafia II is a buddy story between Joe and Vito and the Mafia as their dream (which eventually is their downfall). People were viewing it as the first Mafia which goes into depth about all the main heads of the Mafia which is what people wanted in the sequel. If you look at it as a buddy story between 2 friends it actually is more enjoyable.
Wow I just got to chapter 14 [sp] I didn't know how Tommy died in the original game but I knew that he did. So when the mission came around I was wondering, is this how he died? Turns out I was right[/sp] I think that will go down as one of the most powerful and memorable moments in any game.

Yeah, pretty much. I liked the the sequel because Tommy actually joined the mafia and did well. He enjoyed his life and was loyal to Salieri. Mafia 2 is like GTA4, you just change your bosses and you don't build up any relation with these characters.
