My Uncle's vintage car that belonged to my Grandfather feels so wierd compared
to a normal car because it handles very different than todays car.
The game is pretty realistic on the handling point of view, the damage not so much, but there is a lrady a mod for realistic damage so it doesn't matter.

But afaik, there is no mod yet, to make the game load into winter each time for each mission.
Maybe it's possible, I suggest PMing Costa.

There is a modified free roam which has the DLCs but Jimmy face and surrounding textures are missing. It's glitchy too, Jimmy can get struck to the ground right after jail escape, it's fist fighting out of jail within certain time limit.

The only thing about this game that I didn't like was how you were supposed to keep in contact with Derek and Bruski for jobs, yet when you talk to them they always say to come back later. Doing side missions would have intergrated them into the plot. One of them in particular considering what happens to him.
Freeride? Well that's not too much of a loss. Load any chapter and you can just explore yourself can't you?

GTA is more fun to explore.
GTA4 is definitely longer storywise, but Mafia 2 is more polished. If you like freeroam then go for GTA4 although Mafia has some nice details and awesome graphics.
Mafia 2 lacks fun free roam.

I'd say go for GTA4, it's just lasts longer overall and I had much more fun with it.
I guess I'll probably pick up GTA first then. Is the performance really that bad?

Never had any memory leaks for Mafia 2, wasn't that glitchy for me. I liked GTA IV's characters more and thought the story was generally more memorable, but it is a bitch and a half to get working right on PC. I'd say GTA IV, as you get more bang for your buck ($20) provided you can run it.
