Mafia II Megathread - v2 - Games

I genuinely though Joe's Adventure was going to be proper story missions. If it is just more of Jimmy's Vendetta style gameplay, I'm definitely not buying it.

After that, it is exactly like Jimmy's Vendetta, even leaderboards. I like it, but you may not. It has a little more story, because you're Joe and you're dealing with characters you know from the main game (mostly), but as far as I've seen, they could have done a little more work on it.

There were some enjoyable missions in Joe's Adventures but for the most part it is exactly like Jimmy's Vendetta with the exception you play as Joe, there are maybe 2 cutscenes, all the missions are delivered to you via a wall of text and it DOES NOT explain what happens to Joe after the ending of the main story line which is what PISSED me off the most since Joe is my favorite character...... waste of $10 in my opinion....

Also, if he didn't [sp]get shot[/sp], the game wouldn't have ended there. Something I wish they had added in to Joe's Adventures though was the time that Joe spent while Vito was in the army. Would've been interesting.

Really enjoyable game. I'm in Chapter 14 so far. Wish I could get all the DLCs one day.

This is a one-time only ride You just play the game and once you finished it its done. Not much to do. Would not say i wasted it since this game is fucking amazing, but its just to bad mods/activity's are slowing down the replayability

I played it throug a while back. Don't remember when. Those vehicle physics where really awsome.

One of the worst game pre-purchases I've ever made probably up there with MW2.

I still hate the fact that they killed Henry off. He's such a cool guy.

I don't know what you guys are moaning about, I still play Mafia 2 to this day. Just install a freeride mod, though the latest update broke load-chapters so you'll have to wait for the best ones to be updated. Vito asked him how he knew English so well, and had such a good accent, but he never answered. Though that's nothing compared to when he asked Vito to help him get into the falcone family. What kind of man switches families like that? Someone who isn't actual loyal to the family, and if someone isn't loyal to their family, convention dictates that they're a rat.

This game is fucking fantastic. Why do people hate it so much? They say it's short. If it's so short how am I 13 hours into it and not nearly done? They say the plot is shit. It's a rare occasion where I feel actual emotion because of a game, and this is one of those occasions. Maybe it's just because I'm an old soul so playing a game set in the 40's/early 50's is my dream. On another note, I love how the radio seems to correlate with my activities in-game. I needed money, no I robbed a suit shop, and when I got back into my car to outrun the cops the radio turned on and Money (That's What I Want) started playing. It was amazing.

Because there is nothing to do after you beat the storyline.

The gameplay is great, but i couldn't help but feel how butchered and incomplete the game felt, especially in regards to the story and missions. The game is fine, but it could have been so much more, and I can't get over that. I actually enjoyed the game. Honestly had it not been for the title, this woulda been a fantastic game. Everyone held it to a higher standard because of the franchise it brought. I never played Mafia 1 and I enjoyed this game highly. Not saying this is a flawless game, but it was one of my better experiences and I can at least give it a 7 or 8. This is judging it on it's own ground though.

It's decent, and I'll make a review of it later (or rather, a lengthy dumb post about why I dislike/like it)
