This game lacks a sandbox feel that the demo had (because of removed time limit), can't wait until we get some custom scripts in there.
Side note: me and some others have had the stuttering issue too, i presume it is related to the way the map loads (as you drive along), I've noticed that stuttering is high when buildings are popping up in the distance (and fully rendering), could be a disk issue, could be a threading issue, who knows but i am pretty sure it requires a patch because at times it can be pretty bad (i have a good system, and i was playing it on LOW, high, low, didn't matter it was a problem just the same although at other times and other chapters my game rendered flawlessly and without issue)

Love dropping $60 for a game with massive stuttering issues.
It does it even in cutscenes with nothing happening, and goes away for about 30 seconds if I alt tab out and back in.

How do you mean it's missing the sandbox feel? Isn't there any down time to just play around in the game? What about Free Ride ?

Proxies. Or better wait for a couple of days. You can also try giving some american friend your login info to see if the game unlocks.

I'm at chapter 10 on hard and remember dying only two or three times at foot-shooting scenes. Just use cover and shoot when they are nto shooting.
So the reviews seem very, very mixed. A couple of reviews saying that the game's amazing, and Eurogamer's 4/10 review. (Though Eurogamer gave Mafia 1 a 4/10, too, so can we just not count their opinion?)
I still think the reason for this is that lots of people are expecting a GTA-clone, which it's not. I guess I'll just have to wait for my copy to come in the mail to find out.

Just started the full game, that word war 2 bit at the start was pretty damn unexpected, awesome, but unnecessary at the same time.

You hit the nail on the head there.
People are expecting some giant open world game with countless things to do, instead they get a finely tuned, story driven, atmospheric piece of awesome.
They can't comprehend it.
