It gets better and worse depending on the mission because it has to do with loading map objects off the hard drive, i am pretty sure. some maps have less objects (like the demo) or more (light nighttime chinatown)

i robbed several clothing stores, gas stations and gun shops, all depends upon how much you spent prior.

The playboy mags are chapter-specific, so free roam wouldn't work for them iirc.
If you guys wanna get rich quick in mafia 2, rob a gun store, restaurant or clothes shop etc.
In the gun shop you have to kill the owner first or hill blow your head off with his remington.
But in the restaurant and clothes shop just point your gun at the owner and walk around the desk
to the cash register and press E or whatever button you have assigned.
Plus you can steal the stuff in the shops also

To be perfectly honest, it's a game about the Mafia. I was 90% sure the ending wasn't going to be happy.

After the way the first ended I bet this is a happy ending compared to that. anyway now that it looks like everyone is getting deep into the game and I haven't played it at all I think I need to just stay away from this thread altogether until I play through it.
People waiting for "action" style games why not hold on to your copy until some mods roll around, i feel your pain.

If the cops are on your tail and they haven't got a wanted poster on you or a wanted reg then try out run them.
An example of when you should do this is when your caught speeding or you bumped into the police.

That's what I originally thought, however after I restarted it, going in the same place at the same time worked flawlessly. From like less than 10FPS to 60.

Mine would fluctuate from slideshow to 50-60 FPS, commonly on the maps with lots of stuff happening like [sp]chinatown at night, anything at night really or rain,[/sp] and on the later chapters which are [sp]sunny[/sp] i would run the game pretty much flawlessly.

Yeah, I know. I can barely tell a difference.
I found out why i was crashing, it was PhysX.
I have a 9800 gt, which can support physx, but is not recommended to. This I knew, but when i ran the demo i could run physx on all high with no fps lag or lag at all.
It still doesn't make me lag but causes me to crash.
I can play without it, but it makes gun fights so much more boring. So i just rolled my drivers back, hopefully i can still run physx now.
