Mafia II Megathread - v2 - Games

Just finished it a bit ago on normal (glad too, the last few chapters where becoming a pain to beat). In general I loved the game, it was like playing a movie if that makes any sense. I mainly wish it was longer and [sp]I didn't keep loosing my guns for one reason or another and more over that my damn house didn't get burned to the ground along with all of my money, guns, and clothing. Then again, I really pissed me off which pulled me into the story some more.[/sp] [sp]Jail seemed like they where trying to fill in the story and got very repetitive by the end.[/sp] But really, how hard would it be to add freeroam after you finish the story? Guess it's time to replay it and try to find more of the "collectibles".

Just finished - 9 hours and 45 minutes. [sp] I felt terrible for Joe, knowing that he had given up his dreams to let Vito live, and then being killed minutes later in what he could only assume was Vito selling him out. [/sp]

So this game doesn't have a freeride mode?

Nope. I was disappointed.

OK so I am wondering how much longer I am into the game. Spoiler tags is the location I am at. [sp]I am in jail taking a shower, how much longer/how far am I?[/sp] Very good game so far. But sometimes I just wish some missions weren't so far because driving to them can be a pain after awhile.

I've never heard of this game until today... seems pretty popular too.

Wow I just realized.... [highlight]This basically sums up the game...[/highlight] [sp]You're best friend could have had it made, but instead chose to save your life. Then he gets whacked and Vito doesn't do anything about it. But Vito's parents are also dead and Vito couldn't vist his mother because he was in jail. Francesca ends up hateing Vito for what Vito did to her husband. You also lose your mob family cause you technically killed them all. And now Leo hates you for the war you started, even though you did redeem yourself you can tell the same respect isn't there. Cutting my wrists, brb :([/sp]

I just started using the Xbox controller instead of driving with the keyboard and I have got to say that it has made simulation much easier. (though I am used to the keyboard controls already)

I put the entire folder back in and it actually runs well now. I think they removed the cloth physics off of random peds and just stuck with the main characters and Vito.

How long does it take for fuel to run out? The lights blinking but I don't know. I miss the gauge. Nevermind, I just noticed the gauge.

From what I have played it is a very good game, though it seems a bit short, and there isn't an incredible amount of things to do during the freeroam portions of the game. How come some people already have some of the achievements related to jimmy's vendetta?

I figured there were about 45 of them, but I thought something cool might happen if I moved them all, so I was totally ready to waste the 30 minutes doing it and listening to Vito say something angrily every time I set one down. I was saddened when I had to walk away.
