http://kotaku.com/5619291/mafia-ii-review-smelling-the-roses-in-a-life-lived-too-fast Kotaku really does do the best reviews, even if I do feel like they were a little harsh. But yes, the modding scene for this game is going to make it worth the money once it gets going for real. It's too visually stunning of a game not to, and the combat, when you fight, is intense, fun, and really some of the best I've ever had in a third person game of this style. I hope it goes somewhere.
Looks like the game is very short for the 5 years in development or so. I like it,but its not worth its $50
Short? Mafia 1 took me 9 hours or so to beat the whole game with Lucas's side quests included. Mafia 2 took me around 8 hours or so just to do the first 8 chapters without doing side quests with Derrick and the junk yard guy.
Played it at a friends house and it looked decent enough. I hate the fact that you can lose your tuned car because a mission tells you to abandon it though.
Played it at a friends house and it looked decent enough. Always had them in my Garage, so even if I had to Abandon it I could always get it back. In between those 4 cars I just stole cars off of the street with my trusted lockpick. Never had any issue with losing a tuned car. Just make sure to put any car you care about in your garage.
If you guys wanna get rich quick in mafia 2, rob a gun store, restaurant or clothes shop etc. In the gun shop you have to kill the owner first or hill blow your head off with his remington. But in the restaurant and clothes shop just point your gun at the owner and walk around the desk to the cash register and press E or whatever button you have assigned. Plus you can steal the stuff in the shops also ooh look at this sexy car :D
Eh, you can just steal cars and take them to Bruski, then next to you there are always 1-2 cars around, roughly easy $1000 in maybe 10 minutes (depending how fast you are)

You can take the truck, dump it, and go back and it will be there. 2 truck rounds and the car inside the junk yard should respawn. Got passed that mission in about 10-15 minutes.
I was driving around a bus stop of mine and saw a Marfia 2 advertisement at a bus station.
I was driving around a bus stop of mine and saw a Marfia 2 advertisement at a bus station.
In real life or in the game? I've seen Mafia 2 Adverts in-game, but only in the demo. In real life they have M2 Adverts all over busses and bus stops it seems.
can i still be able to use my DLC (made man, greaser pack) after iv completed the game and start another?
can i still be able to use my DLC (made man, greaser pack) after iv completed the game and start another?
Try it and tell us. Worse comes to worse you can use an LUA script to unlock the DLC.
Beat the game. I am real disappointed. It barely felt like Mafia at all and instead just another generic run and shoot game. It's fun, but I don't think there is much of a replay value, unless you're just going back to get collectibles or achievements. Plus the ending is just horrible. [sp]It would have been nice if they actually showed where Vito and Leo went, because you don't really know if Vito gets whacked or let go on Leo's word. And poor Joe, he was awesome.[/sp] Also, where the fuck are my preorder bonuses from Gamestop? :(

Do you really think Vito is just going to bend over and take it? Do you know how much Vito and Joe have been through? I'm sure Vito would have saved him. That 'cliffhanger' ending just leaves room for DLC ;)[/sp] Uh, check your email? Pretty sure the preorder codes were in the casing though.
Just finished the game. FUCKING 2K CZECH. THEY MADE A BLURRY END, AND THE STORY WASN'T FINISHED. THEY WANT TO LEAVE THE REST FOR 3RD GAME? FUUUU I WANT MORE NOW. Okay, i'm done. But srsly, instead of that they should've do a proper ending for 16th chapter.
Try it and tell us. Worse comes to worse you can use an LUA script to unlock the DLC.
xbox :v: is there freeroam at the end of the game? and save slots?
xbox :v: is there freeroam at the end of the game? and save slots?
In that case yes, you will be able to use the DLC on a new chapter. 100% on Xbox, I'm just not 100% sure on PC. No freeroam at the end of the game, you will need to load a previous chapter. Most chapters (excluding like one or two) allow you to free roam in between missions. Save Slots are a lot like Mafia 1. Each chapter has it's own slot and you can reload to previous points at will.

:siren: Attention all International Mafia II players :siren: If you want to play Mafia II before the release date you can try this: http://social.bioware.com/qnwn.net/forums/forum/1/topic/106/index/772187/1#774745 I'm trying this myself at the moment so let's see how it goes. I'm only concerned about getting banned, but I don't think this is something to get banned for.

I've only seen Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV, and Mafia 2. I live in New York(USA).
