I didnt mean this game alone did I?
I gave this game as an example but I also made a generalization at the bottom.
Very very interesting.
String for changing clothes like your army uniform and prison uniform etc. I'm crashing when I try to run it, though.
Worked for me using m2dev.

Managed to get to play as Joe [game.game:ChangePlayerModel("JOEKSL", -1)] and Jimmy [game.game:ChangePlayerModel("RTRKSL", -1)]too, though they have untextured face :(

This fucking sucks. The console I used doesn't work with ChangePlayerModel and it crashes, and m2dev doesn't work because it doesn't work with 32 bit OS and I have Win XP. :crying:

32 bit Windows 7 here, was the M in your Mafia2.exe in your game capitalized? It wasn't (mafia2.exe) at first for me, so I renamed it to something else then renamed it again to Mafia2 and it worked.
Yes most definitely.

Upload your version maybe I don't know
s0beit's trainer v4 also crashes with ChangePlayerModel.

This is the m2dev I'm using.
Just extracted them to the pc folder, using it along with s0beit's trainer.
Yeah! just finished collecting all wanted posters/play boy/etc and now ym game is at 100% completion!
Does anybody here have Windows 7 64 bit and have gotten m2dev to work?
Does anybody here have Windows 7 64 bit and have gotten m2dev to work?
It doesn't matter what OS you have.
m2dev (modmywhat) does not work with the steam version of Mafia II.
Why the fuck does my m2dev not launching!

ie fuck ton people you see here about using it are all pirates because the steam version of mafia II is the only version of mafia II.
So are there any lua console mods/trainers which do work for the legal version?

Its at Walmart.
I assume if you bought it retail, it would still install via Steam. Just like Saints Row 2 did for me. I bought it at EB Games and it installed via Steam.
Its at Walmart.
Mafia 2 makes you download steam to run unless it's cracked
Its at Walmart.
You still have to register it to a steam account regardless of where you bought it.
I'm pretty sure the Walmart thing was a joke...
Anyways let's drop the piracy talk before v2 gets locked.

It's funny because I'm sure most of those people would have purchased the game if 2k didn't cut half of the content out.
They dug their own hole.
(I have the game on Xbox... I'm not one of those people.)

I heard Target was selling pirated copies in bootleg boxes...
My friend bought it from them and it installed without Steam, even gave him the Health DRM Issue...

Ah damn, they're learning from those douchebags at Infinity Whores!
Ah damn, they're learning from those douchebags at Infinity Whores!
What?
All Steamworks games do this. Infinity Ward wasn't the first to use Steamworks...
Ridge you are poopy in the brain parts.
@PhantomGamers, not really. people pirated the game way before that was an issue. pirating is going to happen whether or not developers fuck up, its just something that pirates like to say when they have to justify pirating a game. not to turn this into a piracy discussion, its just the truth. some cases it happens like spore but in this game the cut content was only an issue after we opened sds files which was way after people were using the lua console.
[editline]10:01PM[/editline]
@Ridge you are dumb congrats bro. lots of games do that, started way way way before mw2.

A lot of people wait for reviews before they buy games.
Right now I'm thinking a lot of people waited for reviews, saw 2k didn't give a shit, and pirated the hell out of the game.
I'm sure a lot of them were just dirty pirates that don't like to support the developers, but enough of them just pirated it because 2k fucked up.
Just my two cents, I don't condone piracy or anything.
It's good to support the developers.
This game isn't worth 50$ though, I recommend waiting for it to go down in price or rent it. :p
TL:DR, I feel 2k would have made more money if they included all of the content in the first place instead of selling it for 50$ and then selling the rest of the content as DLC.
They could have at least ended the game properly, removed all traces of the extra content from the game files, and THEN released it as DLC for 5$ a pop. That would have been the smart way if they just HAD to be cheap.
Ridge you are poopy in the brain parts.
Nope, just haven't bought the game...wanted to wait to hear reviews before buying it, unlike me and APB...
Nope, just haven't bought the game...wanted to wait to hear reviews before buying it, unlike me and APB...
Yeah, I fucked up with APB too.
Not that it's a bad game, just unbalanced IMO.
Bad news for those hoping for DLC to continue the story, it looks like that might not be happening. Here's something on the 2K forums posted by someone named 2K Elizabeth.
I can't tell you more about the DLC quite yet - but I will say that Mafia II's story is a complete package already.
that's in response to
I am wondering I have seen 'liz' saying that there will be new storys and adventures but I would like to see vito's story expanded further, what are the chances?
Why does everyone assume that the game is finished when it's released, the game is finished months before it ships it, the image has to be printed on the discs, sent to the stores, uploaded on steam, etc.
