You had a decent post, but when you added that just fucked the whole thing up.
hey guys lets spend half the page discussing a smiley
The hatches are pretty cool. So craftable maps, does that mean you can make your own world or is it mean in game maps?
Hey Reag, could you please give us an ETA on when Brohoster is going to add the new experimental Bukkit build, or is that not your department?
my mods ;_;
Also, does anyone know if the map item automatically updates itself as structures are created?
but the new stuff is also cool too
My god why can't I automerge? [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] Doomish I will rape your asshole. [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] VICTORY!
Will Notch ever give us iron hatches?
hey guys lets spend half the page discussing a smiley
It's a terrible smiley that should never be used ever.
It's a terrible smiley that should never be used ever.
e drama this is serious business

1.6.1: "Extreme lags on Linux and Windows multiplayer servers, the Minecraft process uses 100% of CPU as soon as the host is logged on. Others may log in via LAN, and wireless without lag. [6]" 1.6.3: "The fix for the CPU load issue is not working, and still starves all other threads." 1.6.4: "CPU issue fix is still failing, same loop as 1.6.3"
1.6.4 fixed it for me. :raise:
wow you're a fucking horrible poster
look at the pot call the kettle black
look at the pot call the kettle black
my pots are stainless steel but thanks
1.6.4 fixed it for me. :raise:
Fixed it for the client, servers still go OH GOD I'M DYING BECAUSE I'M CALCULATING THE MEANING ON THE UNIVERSE.
Not much need to become attached to any world. At the moment no world has anything significant that another does not. They may appear different and the biomes may be of varying sizes. But in the end, each world is exactly the same. Boring really, but Minecraft is in Beta. I hope that as the months go by worlds will be more unique. I want a reason to care for any of my worlds. Also even with this latest update I'm rather bored of the game. I used to love it and have great fun but SMP lags too much for me, there aren't enough threats in the world to make it dangerous and without any goals such as boss monsters, major events, or anything extravagant to discover except for that really cool cliff face, there is nothing to keep you from becoming bored as all hell. Notch needs to find a way to make Minecraft fun, challenging, and really bring to the table something that'll make exploration and discoveries amazing. I still love this game, I just see so much unused potential.
Dungeon Hunting?
Fixed it for the client, servers still go OH GOD I'M DYING BECAUSE I'M CALCULATING THE MEANING ON THE UNIVERSE.
It's only using 10-20% now. Obviously that's still a lot for one player, but it doesn't lag anymore.
I can't play anymore :saddowns: ...
Dungeon Hunting?
When the dungeons are all exactly the same, there is no real point.
Okay. Screw the hatches and maps. Until Notch fixes more crap than he breaks, I'm not getting the update.
When the dungeons are all exactly the same, there is no real point.
then let's make actual dungeons instead of just 5x5x4 cobblestone rooms with cages that spawn monsters and have a chance of being generated
Hey Reag, could you please give us an ETA on when Brohoster is going to add the new experimental Bukkit build, or is that not your department?
Sorry I missed your post but let me sum it up with the following:
Fixed it for the client, servers still go OH GOD I'M DYING BECAUSE I'M CALCULATING THE MEANING ON THE UNIVERSE.

As I'm sure we're all aware, Mojang released Minecraft 1.6 today (Thursday, May 26, 2011) around 5AM EST and we've been hard at work getting a build out that is compatible with Minecraft 1.6 out. Since the release, Minecraft has seen quite a few small bugfix updates addressing some unnoticed bugs and we've pretty easily kept up with them. Unfortunately, there appear to be some issues with the update that is making the game unplayable for SMP players, so we've decided to wait for a bugfix update. Will there be a CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.6? Given the reports of showstopping bugs present in 1.6, there's a high chance a new bugfix update for Minecraft will be out tomorrow or even several times this week. As a result, it is unlikely we will be releasing a Recommended Build for 1.6 until we have something stable to work with. As a result, we recommend everyone stay on 1.5 for a while until the showstopping issues are fixed and we can get a new, stable, compatible build out. You can already get CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.6.4, but it is unsupported and not recommended. I'll be scouring the internet for further reports on how Minecraft 1.6 is performing, but preliminary research and our own testing has revealed it as unplayable due to chunks sporadically loading or not loading.
And finally: http://bro.cm/threads/minecraft-1-6-bug-list-why-you-shouldnt-update-just-yet.315/ TL;DR: Until Mojang gets a better coder to fix this shit, not any time soon, its too big of a risk currently.
Hey Reag, could you please give us an ETA on when Brohoster is going to add the new experimental Bukkit build, or is that not your department?
I generally push the updates into the network. I pushed one in this morning only to have the rest of the staff tell me shit sucks, so I had to remove it about 5 minutes later. [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] CPU issues.
To be fair, I just want Notch to actually, you know, work on fixes for the major bugs before running off to party. Do you ever see a developer who actually cares about his product, be it game or program, party when there are fatal flaws in his code? Of course not. He'll pop open a bag of cheetos, crack open a case of Mountain Dew, stick himself with a coffee IV drip, and stay up all night fixing whatever bugs he created... Meanwhile, this is Notch: http://feber.se/art/211517/feberlive_s02e12/ Do we see the issue here? I don't intend to be so mean to the guy, but he's really not doing himself or his product any favors. It's kind of sad.
SIGH. I had no choice but to update, it didn't give me the option of not doing it. :smith:
SIGH. I had no choice but to update, it didn't give me the option of not doing it. :smith:
Suggest using the new launcher from now on, if you need a way to downgrade PM me.
Am I the only one experiencing SMP being about 84089298x laggier than normal?
