it always amazes me how programmers/software developers manage to completely fuck things up, not notice they fucked them up, then irrevocably replace the old version with the fucked up one [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] then they take their sweet time fixing it
I'm really starting to think that this game needs to be handed to another developer within the company. Someone who's actually competent and take like a million weeks off to go buy hats.

Someone creative and non-autistic should be in charge
Minecraft should really just be rewritten in another language by a more competent programmer. It can't be too difficult having a huge grid of cubes with different types and interactions, a health bar, and items. Not that it's some 2 week job, but after more than 2 years, Minecraft should be so much further along than it is.

Waaaaahhhh. My beta is glitchy.
Waaaaahhhh. My beta is glitchy.
like this will change after release [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] oh and the minecraft website is down now too. gg notch.
Not to defend Notch or anything but for doing 100~ bug fixes he only created about 50~ new bugs. At least that's half a step in the right direction. This does mean of course that eventually Notch will get bored of Minecraft since it will be 2013 before he has anything worth calling a finished product since it takes him three months to take half a step forward.

I mean, he fixed most of those that caused that in single player, but in multi it's pretty fucked.
He claimed he had a few testers testing the updates, they must've sucked ass or didn't give a shit about all the damn bugs.
He claimed he had a few testers testing the updates, they must've sucked ass or didn't give a shit about all the damn bugs.
His testers must be his fans that won't shut up about him being a god, and don't actually care if the game works.
His testers must be his fans that won't shut up about him being a god, and don't actually care if the game works.
That or they never did test. Or Notch lied.
He claimed he had a few testers testing the updates, they must've sucked ass or didn't give a shit about all the damn bugs.
Still his god damn fault.
He claimed he had a few testers testing the updates, they must've sucked ass or didn't give a shit about all the damn bugs.
Some of the bugs were so glaringly obvious that he should've noticed them himself if he had actually tried to run Minecraft for five minutes after writing the code.
Still his god damn fault.
are you really a black guy with a laptop?
are you really a black guy with a laptop?
yeah what of it?
Oh nooo. Now I can't play my video game for a few days. What ever shall I do? Fucking chill out and wait for the bugs to be fixed.
yeah what of it?
i dont like laptops
I think we should give minecraft to Jeb.
Betas are typically free, but considering the fact we all payed cash for this makes it pretty unacceptable to have so many bugs, especially major ones.
Betas are typically free, but considering the fact we all payed cash for this makes it pretty unacceptable to have so many bugs, especially major ones.
Betas are typically closed.
I think a good comparison is the GMail beta. It was in beta for many months (years?), but it didn't have any app-breaking bugs.
beta testers complaining about bugs in the beta testing of a game. are you people stupid or something.
If I was a taste tester and the chef shat all over his food I'd complain there's beta testing, and then there's "are you an idiot or something" [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] This kind of post is hilarious considering you probably have no testing experience. This game is essentially in alpha condition. Beta testing is generally "the game is stable, let's work out a few things and add some new stuff"
the community might aswell rebuild minecraft from scratch. [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] also beta's aren't meant to have any extra content, just bug fixes :science:
They add new stuff if testers request it a lot and it seems like a good idea.
Seems like he won't be releasing a fix today.

These damn updates keeps deleting my saves again and again.
ITT: People expect a work-in-progress to work all the time.
