So my server was running perfectly on 1.6 for a few hours, and now when anybody spawns in it we just bounce up and down in the middle of an empty void, I can see some mobs and a few chunks of the diamond layer, but nothing else.

" We've been playing since before Alpha.

Sorry, but I came in here and expected to see people doing cool stuff with the hatches and shit. And people are going nuts about apparent game-breaking bugs. I certainly haven't seen any, and if there are, it's not really anything to get angry about. As people have said it's in beta, and if it makes you that furious, as you are certainly seeming to be then you should walk outside, maybe to a park or something and stop shouting (Caps-locking, more like) over an internet forum about Minecraft. Grow up.

The Alpha/Beta terminology is void within' Notch and Minecraft. It just doesn't really mean the same thing. Stop using it as an argument.

We were still informed it's a beta. It still is a beta, and you can't expect more than a free beta, because it's still a beta. You just paid for it. Actually, all the development stages (indev, alpha etc) still come under the fact of the beta argument, because we're still testers.

The Beta that everyone plays is the beta version of [b]Survival Mode[/b]. Which is why multiplayer is abbreviated as SMP, because it's [B]Survival[/b] Multiplayer.
