This is unacceptable. Four months of nothing and we finally get a patch that breaks everything. Notch has really shown his true colors from this huge mess. Ever since the game has gone 'mainstream', he's completely abandoned the people who made him who he is today. It's unimaginable how he's lost all his work ethic because of money and greed. I remember listening to all those interviews last year when Minecraft was getting big; ideas like new gamemodes, currency, the wildest, most awesome ideas. But we won't see those at the rate we're going. You could argue that notch doesn't owe us any new content, but then again he should at least have to nerve to fix the game he broke from his own stupidity. It's mind boggling to hear him having 'gaming Friday's' in his office instead of working; how it takes him a whole twenty-four hours to realize his game is entirely broken. It's really depressing that this game will never live up to the potential it would have in someone's care that actually cares enough to put effort into the game.
A: How is the game "entirely broken?" It runs fine on my rig. I haven't found any debilitating bugs.
B: Prove to me and the rest of us that he is "greedy" and that he's lost his "work ethic."
C: How has he "completely abandoned" the people who made him what he is today?
The biggest problem I see with all the whiners on this board is that they seem to think that Notch isn't working on it as much because there isn't as much output.
Work =/= output.
Just because he isn't 100% transparent about EVERYTHING he's doing, and just because he doesn't release new content WHEN YOU WANT IT, does not mean he isn't working.\
Many of you on this board have no fucking clue what it means to develop or create something, and then make a shit ton of money off of it, and then build a business out of it.
Also, I would tend to agree with all of you if you paid more than $15 for this game . . . but you only paid $15! Many of you probably only paid $10! Many more of you got it for free!
If you don't think all the HOURS of fun you've gotten from the game are worth your hard earned $15, then I will come over there, and suck your dick. I will. Tell me where you live, look at me in the eyes, and tell me that the money you paid for this game was not worth it. I will suck your dick and stick a finger up your arse, even (this offer is not valid if you are under 18). I've got a shelf full of games I paid $60 dollars for that had more glitches and that lasted about 10-20 hours. I've sunk about 3 times that into Minecraft.
On my end I've noticed a few bugs, but nothing game-breaking as of yet. I guess the way it's coded it's somewhat dependent on the hardware you're running (and that's not good).
So far I've just encountered the "blocks don't push items upward" bug and the supposedly fixed "glass not pushing out items" bug.
I haven't tried the "1 hit breaks tools" bug yet, I'll try that now.
Ah yes, there's another interesting bug.
I start my single-player save (made after the 1.6.4 update) and everytime I start the map, no matter what I was doing when I saved and quit, I take .5 hearts damage.
*'nother edit*
Yup, the item break bug is present on mine, too.
There's another bug that's driving some texture artists bonkers.
They tried making new hatch textures with hinges, but the way the hinges are coded the texture doesn't remain consistent for some reason.

Pretty much this. The "items breaking in one hit" bug isn't that big a deal to me personally (it's a stupid bug though) because upon learning about it I just say to myself "Huh, guess I better not drop an item and then pick it back up..."
hey guys still bitching about 1.6?
aha, of course you are

Yeah. I understand that might be annoying, but maybe you should try getting into a different game until Minecraft is fixed.
Well. This is a thread about 1.6. So expect complaints about bugs.

Ok just a few points to make.
1. When Minecraft first came out, every update was minuscule. It was just bug fixes, and occasionally something new. Now we had to wait over a month to get this update and the bug fix list is fucking massive, and there are several new features. i would love to hear how that is not work ethic. How is building a team of people to hurry the production of the game not having work ethic. Notch may have gotten a lot of money from minecraft but he sure as hell deserves some respect for what he has done.
2. The game is still in beta. That's right BETA. That means that the game is not done. IE your playing your pre-order. For being a game that just recently hit beta, there not a lot of bugs in the game. Think back to MW2. That game was out for 6 months and the bugs and glitches were more than minecraft ever had.
3. It did not take notch 24 hours to realize that his game was "Broken". Within the first hour of 1.6 being live he was already updating the game to fix some bugs. He had 4 patches out in the few hours after 1.6 hit. He does have a life on the side too though, thus why he cant spend 100% of his time working on a game.
The only really game breaking bug that I found is the fact that items don't eject themselves when inside of blocks.
In addition, I wish hatches opened downwards instead of upwards.
In my opinion, insta-break tools just add another degree of difficulty.

A game with over 2.3 million copies sold is not in beta. It's a game. It doesn't matter which stage of development people feel like attributing to Minecraft - when you've made nearly 30 million dollars from something you should put some fucking effort into its upkeep.

1. Most of the seecret friday updates contained as much if not more content features than the content features added in 1.6. Also Notch is the only person working on Minecraft currently.
2. It is in "beta" but as Notch himself said the game we have now is essentially the game we will have at release so the beta term really holds little meaning, not to mention the other reasons why the term beta doesn't truly apply to Minecraft.
3. 2 of those patches introduced many many new bugs in the game and Notch did not even bother to find out if they worked because he was first at a party and then taking a work day off.
You're adorable.

Hey i got a message for the haters.
Look, MC is in Beta, look to games like GTA 4 on PC, there is a CPU bug, and rockstar games do nothing to it,
Minecraft is in beta, now it has a bug but Notch is trying to fix it.
By the way, Notch just tweeted this : http://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/74382095685914624

There is a reason however, GTA 4 was a port from the console, Rockstar are too focused on the console so they don't know how to fix them. :v:

The way you said it, I gather you're no more than twelve.
Haters.
Using terms like "Haters" to describe people who have complaints about a game they want to play doesn't really help your case.

I am sorry that your life is pathetic enough that you feel the need to make 15+ posts every day on Facepunch, but silly misguided attempts at misogyny won't help you feel better about yourself in the long run. Maybe try seeing a therapist (if your parents will spring for the co-pay) or simply talking to a good friend - if you have any - about your problems. But, I guess if you really feel the need to act out against those who are superior to you, you should try getting a real job (or a real education, and then a job) and moving out of your parent's house.
Moving out is a sort of "act of defiance" that your parents will take notice of. Your parents don't browse the oify on Facepunch, "Esteam". They aren't going to see the edgy custom title you charged to their credit card or any of the ridiculous threads you've made in the oify. If you want to rebel against them, stop trying to take it out on people you don't know. Take some action and better yourself instead of wallowing in a pool of self pity and random outward hatred towards strangers. You aren't going to make any real friends until you give your ugly personality a facelift. :)
