Ok, can anyone tell me how hard it would be to code a little function for AI that tells them if they are under heavy fire, enter the nearest building. If their target is to the X direction, go to the X side of the building. If the building has people entering it, take cover behind walls. I bet someone releases a mod in the first week that does this. Nonetheless, I'm still buying it. Is that ARMA 2 gold going to be more or less expensive than the two seperately?

yeah, duno if you can buy it yet or preload though. the game isn't really steam friendly though, updating is done through file patching, rather than file replacing
has the OA stryker got a shell ejection animation? a small detail but i think its the little things that make a game great

US ARMY and Takistani (think Saddam) are the two main factions. I think there are some PMCs, There are insurgents, There is the German KSK - apparently a gift to german members since they had to put up with the shitty release (REALLY BUGGY). Made by johnny, of course. Some czech guys are also included.

you know something i never really understood, why can't they have decent reloading animations, is it an engine limitation of some sort or just them being lazy?
IIRC , you need to make a moving animation for the hands first... So they have to get in their motion capture studio,,,,,, a lot of work since it wasn't done that way in the first place, I think. Plus, i think the weapons etc have to be reworked, magazines are internal proxies, so if you have a magpul mag and you put it in your M4 it's still a good ol 30rnd stanag. edit: i don't have a straight answer, but I guess BI is the place for that.
I'm pretty sure they could have different reload animations if they wanted to, they just didn't feel they were justified.

I wish they would update the core engine a bit more. (Although, i seem to have noticed that 3rd party mod-makers don't seem as limited to the default animations and poses...i hated playing with the Steyr AUG in Operation Flashpoint and Arma because looking at my team just killed any sense of realism with their hand going through the barrel and or grenade launcher). I get frustrated with some of the animations in the game, and the fact that weapons can't just have 1 slot, with the possibility for attachments, you have to have a different weapon for each slot. So instead of having M4...i have to have M4ACOG, M4ACOG/Grenade Launcher, M4ACOG/Grenade Launcher/Silencer/ etc. Oh well, i guess that's nitpicking an otherwise pretty good game. Especially in a time where realism seems to be going away in favor of arcade flavored action.

Take a look at the Australians At War Steyrs, they actually have an ingame option to switch from vert grip up, to vert grip down, with correct holding animation. As for attatchments, it's entirely possible, it was done in OFP with various mods (most notably the FFUR-SLX mod) but it was done via a heavy handed scripting method, which while it works fine, it's not ideal and can be buggy. For the most part, I have no desire for being able to switch up attatchments in mission, especially from a realism perspective.
Is it just me or does this have crazy high system requirements? Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 or ATI Radeon HD 5770 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 896 MB VRAM
