The hand grip issue is no longer an issue in A2. Take a look at the Australians At War Steyrs, they actually have an ingame option to switch from vert grip up, to vert grip down, with correct holding animation.
As for attatchments, it's entirely possible, it was done in OFP with various mods (most notably the FFUR-SLX mod) but it was done via a heavy handed scripting method, which while it works fine, it's not ideal and can be buggy. For the most part, I have no desire for being able to switch up attatchments in mission, especially from a realism perspective.
I know it's been fixed in Arma2, i was happy to see that much.
Finally no more screenshots of hands blasting through guns.
Also, i understand the realism of not switching in mission, but just having it so that a mod would simply be a gun, and it's attachments, not the gun, and the same gun with each individual mod.
Like i said, i was nit-picking.
I just wish i could afford to get Arma2.
The demo has been fun, and forum lurking for all the awesome mods just makes me want it more.
Super stoked for this, got back into an MP group the other day and we've been doing some strikes into Quesh Kibril in prep

Armed Assault is different graphics wise from normal games; you can still run it from a computer a couple years old, but don't expect to be able to get a viewdistance over say 2000m, also lower FPS' are a lot more common than other shooters (around 20-25 as standard versus 30-50 in a CoDalike)
wow, that SCAR looks great
The one thing that bugs me is they can add all this stuff but not get holo sights working properly
what's wrong with it?
Too bad there is no customization menu, being able to add scopes or other attachments......
Well basically a holo sight like the eotech should be 'projected to infinity' such that no matter how the gun moves from your viewpoint the dot is always pointed at where the bullets are going to go

There would be no point in making realistic eotech because you will fire from the hip or aim down the sight. In both ways having a realistic eotech wouldn't add anything extra. When firing from the hip the gun is on too right to be able to use the sight and when aiming down the sight the sight would be on the middle anyway.

I didn't know this. I always thought holo sight were fancy red-dot sights. Now I know more.
So does this run about the same as vanilla Arma 2?
Wait, did it get released?

That looks incredibly sexy, i love bi now.
to talk about the camera, it's SO MUCH better. mostly for pilots, the camera moves around if you turn etc, so the harder you turn, the further the cam moves..

wardak region by ebanks, with town generator.
Man that looks nice. Pretty much any region you'd want to fight in is in Arma now.
Still needs a decent contingent of winter forces and maps

Right before the apc sqaushes the guys like pancakes anyway.
So, does it run better?
I do want to get Arma II or this but I tried the demo and it would run so unsmoothly on my computer.
BIS forums are now nice and fast for me. Takes 5 minutes to get to ArmA II section.

Same. Either that, or the controls are supposed to handle like a fat guy with a shopping cart.
