How big is the explosive on the scud? Also, will there be a discount with the summer sales?
The Scud is excatly like in OFP, so you can only launch it and it will not explode anywhere. Modders will most likely soon release script or addon which allows you to launch it to the position where you want it to go and explode.
I bet there won't be discount with the summers sales because OA was just released and because it already has pretty low price
It's not full price, it's 30 pounds or so, thats far from full price, they never said it was gonna be full price.
oh, someone told me it was full price, it's still like 40 USD though
It's € 29.90 on Sprocket so I bet it's pretty much same on Steam.

Then WTF is the point of having a scud......
And 30 pounds is fucking expensive here.....

Cinematic and BIS being lazy. (and good for having missions where you gotta destroy the scud before it is launched)

Well, OA is standalone, so it's a decent price I reckon.
So I can buy OA and not the first Arma II?
So I can buy OA and not the first Arma II?
Yes.
[editline]02:46PM[/editline]
I seem to be getting poor performance with this new update that is supposed to improve things.. what the hell?
So I can buy OA and not the first Arma II?
Yes. Or you can buy Combined Operations which will contain both ArmA II and OA (so you will get content from both) for $46.99

Combined Operations is not on Steam or do I have to buy it somewhere else?

It's Retail. You can buy it from Amazon or Gamestop.
Are there any mods that work with this that make the aiming more like arcad-y fps's like css or modern warfare? I know it can be adjusted by changing the deadzone, but honestly the difficult aiming is the major turn-off for me. Sure it may be "realistic", but fuck me it's sure as hell not fun.
edit: dragon rising had this done right, and while there was a lot wrong with that game, it had that going for it that gave it a lot of points in the milsim catagory.

If you want MW2, play MW2.

Man, I was hoping I would get one response that wasn't :downs:

Then this game is not for you. You can learn to master this "the difficult aiming" just like you learned to master the arcad-y aiming.
I can't even notice any difference with the aiming to the arcady games when the floating zone is at zero.
Impulse version of ArmA [II] is still 1.05 for me :smithicide:
How does it work for those who already have ArmA2? I've heard that they will combine somehow, but how?
Is it like the expansion for ArmA, where it was basically just an addon you launched with the original game?

The OA installs to the ArmA II directory and with OA.exe and ingame mod management you can choose to have the content from both games.
what if you have retail and buy OA on steam?

No idea yet, i think they combine somehow anyways, just has to be installed probably.

In-game mod management? Sweet.
Here's the pic of the ingame mod management from Rommel's thread in ausarma.org

I think i just regained some lost hope in BI
Yay, no more messing around with the mod parameters.
Do you have to restart the game if you make any changes there, or do they happen on the fly?
Also units from the mods should run pretty OK in OA, they just mainly need FLIR settings. (as seen on the pic, AAW unit on the right and OA unit on the left)

Reference the bottom, it shows you what mods ('expansions') are on the server.
I wonder when it'll be available on steam.
57 minutes left up in this bitch.
I'm going to get a new phone today so I'm going to see if Best Buy or whatever is selling Combined Operations.
