The countdown vanished on steam. No button to buy though.
Steam always does this apparently, when they don't offer preordering, according to kalshnutz.
From what i heard on the BIS forums. Is they are still working out pricing on Steam. It may not be available until tomorrow.
I just purchased my copy off of Sprocket. Finished my download and installing now.
it's not even on Direct2Drive :/

Even when they do offer pre-ordering. Valve is just bad at timing.

Thank fuck, messing around with those damn shortcuts pissed me the fuck off. I might actually buy this.
Don't add a countdown when all it does is tell you at what time everyone else will be enjoying the game stupid steam.

I recommend it according to the comments I have heard from people.
I will probably get my own copy on 31st because I want a retail version this time (bought ArmA II from digital download) and they will arrive to Finland tomorrow according to a store where I pre-ordered it from.
It's not even on fucking amazon what the fuck.

Where did you buy it from? Every store I've looked at seems to have the release on 2.7 (in Finland).
UK / Steam release date pushed back to the 2nd.

[editline]04:56PM[/editline]
Steam just unlocked it! It works on steam now! Go buy :buddy:
Up now on steam.
Regular ARMA 2 just went up on sale for 20 bucks. I'd buy it, but I need to know if the mouse movement/aiming delay is only really apparent in the demo.
10% Downloaded.

If you don't own ArmA II and you buy the pack it's 10$ off the sale price.

Oh shit, double post.

Oh, didn't see that. Thanks for the heads up.
Does sprocket let you get updates and mods normally?
Oh man, 50% off ArmA 2 today?! Quick, someone tell me how much Arrowhead is in US dollars. If ArmA 2 amd Arrowhead are cheaper than Combined Operations on Amazon and Steam then I'll get them individually on Steam.
Fucking steam blacklisted my paypal. I have to wait a week for them to reply now.

$40
wow, BI is awesome

It's in the 3rd mission.
He's a forum member that died in case you didn't know.
So yeah, as everyone probably knows by now, Arma II is now 50% off on Steam. Is it worth buying, or should I just save money and get the expandalone? I'm not really super interested in either, but the concept is interesting and I enjoyed the demo, as unoptimized as it seemed. (I can handle Crysis on high/near-high, but even the low Arma settings brought my computer to its knees.)
Bought it!
honestly you should get combined operations from sproketidea if they have it, or just OA from sprocket idea, because almost all the cash goes to BI (as they are BI).
Get combined operations if you can, as it is 10 bucks more and contains both games
Are there any mods that work with this that make the aiming more like arcad-y fps's like css or modern warfare? I know it can be adjusted by changing the deadzone, but honestly the difficult aiming is the major turn-off for me. Sure it may be "realistic", but fuck me it's sure as hell not fun.
edit: dragon rising had this done right, and while there was a lot wrong with that game, it had that going for it that gave it a lot of points in the milsim catagory.
this could help, http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=7388
but you're supposed to look through your optics anyway. Those type of cross hairs don't work for a very good reason.. bullets come out of the barrel, not a cone.
Should I get ARMA 2 or wait until I can afford OA?

Get the combined pack when you can afford it.

Yes, Sprocket version is just like buying it retail. You install, it verifies that your key is genuine, then that's it.
Also, you're supporting Bohemia interactive more when you purchase it from sprocket. As 100% of the funds are going to the developer.
Is it really worth getting both? I think I would play for maybe the multiplayer.

I'd say it's worth it. It's one of my favorite games of all time. IF not holds that spot. If you are looking for a good community to play it with. Check out http://www.tacticalgamer.com We had a 110 man server event last Sunday with the community over at Shack Tactical.
