Should I get ARMA 2 or wait until I can afford OA?
My pure IMHO - original Arma 2 is shit compared to Operation Arrowhead technically wise. The moments that annoyed the shit out of me in the first game make me cum in OA. I put a lot of hours in both games already. Oh and not to confuse anyone - I really love simulation games, the more realistic the better.
honestly you should get combined operations from sproketidea if they have it, or just OA from sprocket idea, because almost all the cash goes to BI (as they are BI). Get combined operations if you can, as it is 10 bucks more and contains both games [editline]05:44PM[/editline] this could help, http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=7388 but you're supposed to look through your optics anyway. Those type of cross hairs don't work for a very good reason.. bullets come out of the barrel, not a cone.
Yeah, people need to realize this is a simulation game. And not a shooter.
So I should Just get OA then? Because I don't want to buy a game just because I can and if OA has everything that ARMA 2 has then I'm not missing out on much. Am I?

Plus there are a lot more cool sniping positions.
Alright thanks, I'll look into getting OA.
Yeah, people need to realize this is a simulation game. In real life our hand-eye-body coordination is incredibly fast, and when it's put into a game, that reaction time / coordination gets slowed way down. This is why (most) first person shooters have the entire body move as one -- because it works much better gameplay wise, period. I cannot think of one situation in arma where the arms have to move for a second before the camera does would be better then the conventional method. I guess it looks better from a 3rd person perspective, but it really doesn't bring anything to the gameplay table other then slowing people down. I like how you can make your head move on it's own, but that's with a keybind and only lasts as long as you hold it down. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I just don't get it.
anyone else disappointed in the US ARMY guys? I thought johnny would not reuse the groin plate from his USMC guys.
Yeah! When I look at 3D model's groin plates, I want them to be ORIGINAL, goddamnit!

Can't believe Arma 2 goes on sale then the expanded version comes out.
When I buy off that sprocket site, is it a digital download or is it a package?
I'm so glad they put ARMA II on sale since my disk doesn't work. I bought the pack.
The sprocket site is going extremely slow.
Yeah! When I look at 3D model's groin plates, I want them to be ORIGINAL, goddamnit!
No, I meant the rest. But I'm saying he reused them.. and that broke my heart
Looked at Best Buy, Gamestop, and hell, even checked Wal-Mart. Notta. My download speed sucks, so I'd rather not do the digital download. Ah, well. I guess I'll wait around and see if someone picks it up here soon.
shipments get in the 2nd
Is arma II worth getting right now?
if you have OA, yes
I don't think so.
Is arma II worth getting right now?
If you're not going to get OA yet, then yes. Otherwise get the bundle.
patch 1.52 http://rapidshare.com/files/403865870/A2OA_Patch_152.zip.html
Is there a lot of US servers on Arrowhead?
patch 1.52 http://rapidshare.com/files/403865870/A2OA_Patch_152.zip.html
Wait, a patch already?
yeah
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1663202#post1663202 This will be useful for people that have the ArmA II and OA installed on different directory. (Like if you bought ArmA II from steam and OA from Sprocket)
Will I get more content if I buy Arma 2 and Oa?
yeah much more. Some addons may have config issues with OA , so having ArmA 2 original will "fix" that. (classes etc reference to ArmA 2 files..)
