I caved in and bought combined operations... I think I may have already spent my last paycheck just on steam games D:
I know this is thread on OA, which I'm considering getting, but why the hell do I have to download 8 gigs to update the original Arma 2 through Steam?
I know this is thread on OA, which I'm considering getting, but why the hell do I have to download 8 gigs to update the original Arma 2 through Steam?
Well basically, all of the ARMA 2 data is stored in archives. The patcher you use for the retail version knows how to add the new files to the archive, so the patch is fairly small. Steam in the other hand has to re-download the WHOLE archive instead of just the files in the archive that got updated.
How many players can play in one match online?
I don't know what the hard-coded player limit is (if there is one), but I've seen over 100 player servers.
fuckin awesome if this fixes most of ArmA2's idiosyncrasies, this might be one of the best games ever
Is it just me or does AO have 5 achievements? They just break when you click but still.
How many players can play in one match online?
there is no limit, just how powerful the server is.

How good is OA? I'm kind of done with Arma2, especailly since I had to basically run on low to get it to not have mouse lag and play all choppy. Is it more of the same except in the desert?

could you run utes well korjax?
I'm still downloading the ARMA2 update. Does it really make it less choppy? Not by a few frames, but by a noticeable amount?
Incase anyone is interested, I'm running 25 man insurgent COOP/PVP community called the Takistan Liberation Front. If you are looking for a squad add me on steam and we can talk.
OA isn't picking up the original ArmA 2 in the expansions.
you copied the PBO?
No. Do I just copy the map files?
i gotta wait till friday for my pre order oh well i havnet got school for thursday and friday :D
No. Do I just copy the map files?
copy your entire arma 2 directory to OA directory.
i gotta wait till friday for my pre order oh well i havnet got school for thursday and friday :D
Pre-order? It's got released today :raise:
So just put all of Arma 2's contents into a modfolder and drop it in the Expansions?
Pre-order? It's got released today :raise:
i live in england :(
OA isn't picking up the original ArmA 2 in the expansions.
Are they installed in the same directory? If not, then look at this. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1663202#post1663202
i live in england :(
Definitely out in the UK too. Check Steam, it's the first thing on the 'New releases' tab of the main store page. And top sellers for that matter. I'll definitely be getting this, but not straight away. Maybe when it's gone down £5 or so. In fact, it seems to be everywhere but Amazon selling it, some places for about £16.

[editline]05:05PM[/editline] Got it to work with Dwarden's program.

so can you combine OA on STEAM with ArmA 2 from retail?
OA seems a lot more CPU intensive than the original. The Lee-enfield is a really nice gun for killing zombies. Too bad there isn't any animation or sound for the bolt.
could you run utes well korjax?
Decently enough. I want to get a new video card but eh I dunno. Also I'm not a fan of how 99% of multi was simply just domination. Terribly uninspired, unrealistic, and uninteresting game mode for a game with such simulation and mission maker depth
