unless he knows how to do it, ill remind him that you have to set the name of the helicopter to "veh3" and you can replace veh3 respectively to whatever you want
I was wrong. Good thing people more in the know have already chipped in! Thanks guys. Now to try it out.
That worked perfectly, thanks guys!
I can't seem to get it to work for me. I named my UH-1H "HueyLewis" and then placed "{_x moveincargo hueylewis} foreach units this" in the .init box of the Squad Leader but then i still had a squad of d-bags outside of the helicopter shooting at me from the ground. What am i missing? Also, i found this: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=4847 I think that may be helpful for some of us in the future.
Debating whether to get this, its £25 on Steam (already got the original ArmA2) Or I could get it on amazon for £18 but come in fuck knows when.

Sounds good, I'm buying it.
We're rebooting 386th under new leadership and a new name, called Takistan Liberation Front. We'll be playing mostly as an insurgency running ambushes and such. We'll also be having a Blufor night once a week where we'll be playing Domination. Look out for a thread here soon.

Why is the FLIR so popular? I mean, whats so good about it?
Why is the FLIR so popular? I mean, whats so good about it?
It makes locating enemies ALOT easier, especially at night.
Well yeah, but isn't there already those in scripts and missions of Arma 2? What make this FLIR more superior?
Well yeah, but isn't there already those in scripts and missions of Arma 2? What make this FLIR more superior?
The ArmA II FLIR was a joke. It was just a white and black overlay on your screen or something. This time the FLIR is done properly, you can actually spot vehicles and people through it easily and so on.
sprocketidea load for anyone? i dont really want to buy it from steam
Well yeah, but isn't there already those in scripts and missions of Arma 2? What make this FLIR more superior?
I believe what makes this different is it doesn't require an add on or anything else, it's just stock FLIR. So it works with all of the default Units, and shows up "pretty much" how real FLIR would. I'm sure some could nit-pick it, but from what i've seen, it's pretty impressive. I don't do many night missions...but i might try a few now and again thanks to FLIR and making it more fun to sneak up on people. (Although stock ArmaII still lets the AI see you regardless of the darkness...i got picked off from a long ways away by AI earlier in pitch black darkness. First shot too.) But i hope that's something ACE mod fixes...or at least tones down.
I'm on the server in the op playing warfare right now, it's awesome 3 sides. Tanks everywhere :byodood:
any server browsers been updated to list OA games? yoma only seems to list arma 2 games

What's the difference between the new warfare module and the old one? [editline]09:22AM[/editline] And any tips on how to use it would be cool too.
Freetrack. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDnG3VIpYuQ[/hd]
i have a trackir i hardly ever use and its quite good with arma especially in vehicles, some of the freetrack led clips i saw were really shitty you would think they would do a standardized set of pieces so you get a well built unit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foThOcIRaAw&feature=related
Can I still play multiplayer if I download a mod? Just wondering.
Can I still play multiplayer if I download a mod? Just wondering.
Depends if the server allows you to have the mod. You gotta remember that some of the servers run mods too and because of that vanilla OA players can't connect to them.
yes use a tool like yoma (once its updated for OA) to load the mods each server requires, you can also download new mods and keep mods you already have up to date with yoma i say yes because if you want to join a server and mod x isnt allowed then simply dont load it, usually though a decent server will let you load client side stuff like warfx, hifisounds, shacktac hud on top of any required mods
Depends if the server allows you to have the mod. You gotta remember that some of the servers run mods too and because of that vanilla OA players can't connect to them.
So I will have to uninstall mods if I want to play a vanilla server?
So I will have to uninstall mods if I want to play a vanilla server?
You should use Mod folders so the Ingame Mod Management allows you to toggle them on or off. Never put any mods into ArmA II AddOns folder directly. Mod folder is a folder in Main ArmA II directory that contains AddOns folder and in some cases some other folders. Easiest way to do this is to just create folder called "Mods" into ArmA II main directrory and then create "Addons" folder inside it and then place all Mod .PBO files into it and then enabling the mod from Ingame "Expansion" management. The modfolder can be named anything you like.

Finally OA has been sent to me through the mail. Should arrive tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
I want to play this but I won't be home until next week.
And sometimes they let you get right behind them and when you shoot one suddenly everyone sees you.
Yeah. My gripe ever since OFP was that you could sneak up on people...but the minute you shot a weapon, not matter how far, or how concealed, or even if it was silenced...it was like you turned on a Vegas strip-light that said "SNIPER HERE!!!===>"
when you first play it i recommend going into the sp scenarios and playing the ones that let you try each factions weapons/vehicles, the us forces weapon selection is a bit weak i though mostly scar variants, the m14 isnt bad but they could have included a couple of versions with different scopes [editline]06:47PM[/editline] also it runs worse than arma 2 for me, i guess because its a old version of the engine but with the 1.07 patch i could set things quite high
