I've been holding back on the game purposely for it to go on sale and when it does, they rip you off by wanting you pay for a update which should be free. All it does is update the game with new content and features, nothing new. It's pretty much paying for the game twice. They use it to keep the price high.
an 8gb update yeah no get out of my thread
Fuck yeah. The update for ARMA2 did not disappoint. Gave me almost 10 more FPS, which means I can play on native resolution, 1366x768, instead of 1024x768 and put shadows on HIGH; All this with 40 FPS average. I'm ok with leaving everything on normal, but shadows is what makes this game graphically beautiful. Anyway, what are some good clans I can join? I heard of shacktactical, are they any good? I'm really looking for a somewhat relaxed clan that isn't very strict but they still have to be organized and not have any annoying 12 year olds. That update fixed some bugs and made it more stable.
Yes, lets buy a standalone expansion and charge us almost as much as the original game, even tho it is almost same. Oh yea, as FalcoLombardi just said, it's costing you to fix a buggy unfinished game. I made my point.
Anybody got the Steam OA to work with retail ArmA2?
God-dammit. [editline]04:05PM[/editline] Wait seriously? They released a very hardware intensive game in 2009 without Quad Core support? I thought I read something before release about it being Quad Core-enabled.
No game really uses 4 cores yet. Oh sure, they might dump a small amount of load once and a while, but no game has come close to utilizing all four cores to their best potential yet. Which is fine with me. It means my i7 processor won't be completely obsolete until years from now.
Anybody got the Steam OA to work with retail ArmA2?
me i moved OA folder to ArmA 2 folder i changed the reg key for OA to the new dir.
me i moved OA folder to ArmA 2 folder i changed the reg key for OA to the new dir.
Theres an easier way, here. You should know this. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101214
Theres an easier way, here. You should know this. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101214
I run that but ArmA2 content stays gray within the expansion menu.

You don't like the game, we get it. Let us who enjoy it have fun with it at least.

And what new features they should have added to OA to make it "worth" for you to buy? ArmA II does have alot users who really appreciate the new features this expansion gives, including me. [editline]11:59PM[/editline] ArmA II version 1.07 is actually more stable and updated version than the current OA version because they had been working on that update once OA went gold.

Besides, it's standalone.
Theres an easier way, here. You should know this. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101214
i read that twice and have no clue what that guy is on about
i read that twice and have no clue what that guy is on about
Put the bat in your arma2 folder, start game with bat, fixed. [editline]09:19PM[/editline] i mean arma2 oa folder., now arma2 should work.
i read that twice and have no clue what that guy is on about
It uses that Bat to find your ArmA II folder so that it can use the registry to include the ArmA II content on OA.
Are there any good relaxed clans that I could join in ARMA2?

I got my biplane to drop GBU's >:D
doesn't really belong here, but.. BIS is very dedicated to the community. The CEOs, the devs , they all post on their forums, help users create addons and troubleshoot, regular beta patches, address issues from a bug tracker, take suggestions... They've done this and more since OPF. I wish people would stop sucking valves cock and look at other devs.
Start searching. http://forums.bistudio.com/forumdisplay.php?f=90
Shack Tactical or 82nd Airborne. Hmm. They're not "super" strict or anything right?
shack tactical isn't very strict i think, ORC is if i recall.
can you aim the scud? the driver has a option to fire but none to aim, i didnt try other positions before i launched it
shack tactical isn't very strict i think, ORC is if i recall.
Cool. Do they have active servers? I haven't played ARMA2 at all, only like 8 hours, because of how crappy it ran before the update so I don't know how to play anymore:frown:. Do they think they will mind that? I only remember infantry controls and how to salute lol.
kellys heroes seems like a decent clan, i always play on there pub servers
can you aim the scud? the driver has a option to fire but none to aim, i didnt try other positions before i launched it
nope, it just launches. someone is probably gona script it though
