in arma2, after prolonged gameplay, my computer either A: Freezes, or B: Shuts down.
BUT SOEMETIEMS, not even 5 minutes in, it does the above.

i dont know, since you said you are not paying 40 bucks for an expansion, you told me on steam you might pirate it, I'd say yeah, you did pirate it.
Why would anyone pirate it... BIS actually needs the money and piraters usually trigger the FADE, so they can't play it for a long time anyway.
I thought they removed the DRM? The retail game doesn't need the DVD anymore and I remember having anything like even Hamachi would trigger it, but not anymore.
I remember MagicISO (Damned Bioware RPGs, every single one I've owned has come with a faulty disk so I've had to image it to install) caused a ton of problems like in the first mission my feet would get stuck in the ground, or helicopters I was in would suddenly lose their engines. Got rid of it and it all worked fine. Then I played many months later with it installed again and there we no problems.
They removed Securom, but i doubt that they got rid of FADE though.

It's not a problem on your side, it was a problem with the mission. It's been fixed now.
I have a hard time playing MP due to lag but I can max it with 60 FPS on the desert map for editor, what are some cool things I should do in the editor?

I can't do massive but seeing as how I get a constant 60 FPS I could prob get a descent sized jet battle.

yep, they take it out every so and so patch. The new beta patch removes it (or maybe 1.52?). Not because it makes it easier for assholes to pirate the game, but because BIS loves the community and would be nowhere without them
I bought it! It will be done in 4 hours but I gotta go to sleep. Driving my mum to the airport tomorrow morning, so it will be ready when I get home.

Okay I have bought ARMA II a few months ago and I got OA Yesterday, But I cannot get the Combinded Operations to work,
I bought both through Steam. A command prompt window opens shows a few error lines and then closes, and OA does not start
I could use some help here.

Desert Storm? You should do something about the load bearing gear. MOLLE stuff wasn't around in 1991. Perhaps you could edit the model or something to use ALICE rigs?

I'm having trouble running combined operations from steam now. When I was using Dwarden's batch it ran fine, but it just flashes a command prompt up saying it can't find the file specified. I've checked the registries and validated to make sure they were correct.

I have the same problem.
I got OA and Arma 2 working again. You have to set the arma 2 path and OA path like modfolders.
For example you would do:
"-mod=*arma 2 path*;*OA path;expansion*" or
"-mod="-mod=C:\games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2;C:\games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion"
In your OA command line
The quotations are required for it to work.
