I bought it from Steam when it came out, but I'll need to wait two weeks before I can even download it.
Sucks being capped to a 54kbps connection.

whatnow why you ignored me. You told me to add you.
BIS finally released a Combined Ops batch file that works for Steam version, but getting mods to work on top of that is a real pain.
I'm looking into buying Arma 2, one a scale of 1-10, what would you guys rate it and why.
Don't buy Arma II, but Arma II: Combined Operations. That way, you get both Operation Arrowhead and Arma II for a low price. If you live in the US, it's around $50 I think. Arma II is still at least $30 but $40 in most places and Operation Arrowhead is also $40. Great deal if you ask me.
I give Arma II a 9-10 because it's really fun. It has a ton of mods which make the game so much better. The voices are annoying though. I mean, it's obvious if you've played of the games.
If I have artillery in warfare, how do I command it to fire at a target?
Are they still using that god awful aiming method from arma 2 where your camera doesn't turn but you aim at whatevers on camera when you start aiming?
You could disable that...

It's not awful, you just need to play ArmA 2 differently from your standard FPS. The freeaim system works for Red Orchestra and it damn well works here. It prevents silliness like marking a dot on your screen and using it as an aim reference. If you hate it so much turn the aiming deadzone option to zero, but your view will be very stiff.

It would be REALLY awesome, if I could make it like it only turned on when I held down a button, I agree that it works really well IN SOME CASES, but when you're clearing a city area it's not imo.
ign stop posting it here , just pm me. send me your profile page .. i'm off to bed though, and I may not be back until Tuesday.
Bye
Sexy
I wish I wasn't saving money at the moment.
I was playing on the Takistan Liberation Front's server with my friend we were trying to capture a town, me and my friend went ahead he got killed by a machine gunner (who I killed after he killed my buddy)
He then got a chopper flew to the front lines and got shot down, attempted to make a crash landing (I bailed)
I saw him die in a beautiful explosion.
Should I bother getting arma 2 or just get the expansion?
Heard you can go on the civilian team and hide in groups of civilians picking people off then dropping the weapon etc.
So how do I move my OA into my retail Arma 2 with mods, or move arma 2 with mods to my steam OA?

You can get both for an extra £5.

Eh true, but what does Arma have that OA doesn't?

Do the singleplayer missions use that god awful mid nineties gps voice?
Do the singleplayer missions use that god awful mid nineties gps voice?
No, there are really well done voiceovers for the main story bits and the main tasks. Regular orders within your fireteam are still like that though, but there isn't really any other way to do voices

Well they could hire one of the people that make gps stuff like that for a living so it sounds like it's actually one sentence, and say I'm a sniper(Not camping, like move around after every few shots) faggot in almost every game, will I like this.
Since I only have ArmA 2, can I play with Operation Arrowhead players?
