You try modelling, texturing, animating and coding that shit for a game engine totally not designed for that then if you think it's so easy.
An Alien type mode wouldn't be so bad. Just make all round tracer rounds for the beam weapons and reskin some soldiers and heli's, you know.

Like I said, two humanoid races fighting it out works okay, like the Stargate and Star Wars mods that are being made... but anything else would require a lot of work.
Modelling, texturing and stuff like that wouldn't be too hard for a professional, it's just the scripting stuff that would drive people insane. And there's always attachTo to make this stuff.
I've highlighted the key word here.
Also, is there a difference between the CD version and the Steam version? Do both share the same servers?
Yes, they use the same servers.
I want some ArmA 2 Mods that aren't just reskins of old shit, or different modern technology. Why isn't there any just ridiculous shit likes aliens or anything. For ArmA 1 there was an Independence Day pack, sure the models were pretty crappy but it was fun to make Mankind vs Aliens scenarios. Why hasn't anyone made an 100 ft tall colossus that goes around stomping on shit or something?
With the increased complexity of 3d modeling in today's games you aren't going to find the same wide range of mods as OFP.

I remember playing around with the alien addon in ARMAI, soo much fun.
With the increased complexity of 3d modeling in today's games you aren't going to find the same wide range of mods as OFP.
Well, just because something can be incredibly good looking, doesn't mean it has to be, even though it sounds weird coming from me because i always perfect my stuff to the point where i can't do anything more to it. :saddowns:

Can anybody tell me why my game crashes when trying to play campaign and training, as well as randomly crashing within the armory? It worked fine when I first played it but after I closed it down my first session it has never been back to actual working status.
By the by, if anyone's interested in joining a realism based group based around special forces actions, check out the group I'm in, Taskforce 87: http://taskforce87.com/index.php?action=forum

So, I have a question: what happens if I buy a non-steam Operation Arrowhead and then combine it with my STEAM-bought ArmA 2? Will it work and result in Combined Ops, or no?
So, I have a question: what happens if I buy a non-steam Operation Arrowhead and then combine it with my STEAM-bought ArmA 2? Will it work and result in Combined Ops, or no?
Yes.
They have fastropes, but what about fastladders?
Which resolutions are you playing at, ShadowPhoeni?
1680x1650 fullscreen, 1664x984 windowed.
I mean, taskboards and 3d or what it was?
You mean this?
Ah okey thanks. It just seemed to look really good for you, but I have to play with a higher 3D res than interface to lake it look good, otherwise it looks really crappy from far away. I'm getting widescreen soon though.
I'm having really bad performance issues. I can max the game out or play it on bare minimum and it will still run at the same frame rate.
The game is really CPU heavy, and badly optomized.
I don't get it why didn't they fix the convoy AI in operation arrowhead? They made such a good game but failed to program vehicles to just move trough a straight road? I don't get it. No matter how I set the waypoints, movement speed and formation, as soon as the front tank goes 1 meter off-course, the follower starts doing amazing ballet tricks and tries to hit every wall and plant. The red line is how they driven in my exaplme [IMG_thumb]http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q140/RomaZroddoma/WHY.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Upgrade to pro today!
the blue is where the convoy is supposed to be going
the blue is where the convoy is supposed to be going
Oh lol im slow :argh:
I've done the harvest red mission three times in co-op and it still won't unlock the next mission. This is annoying.
I've done the harvest red mission three times in co-op and it still won't unlock the next mission. Wow, the online in this game is pure awesome. I've been on a server with lots of people speaking my national launguage. I played it for the first time yesterday and I already can tell war stories.
Operation Arrowhead is such a massive improvement it's not even funny. No glitches, no inadequate shitty tutorials that flash every 100 word instruction for 0.1 seconds. Much better performance, and, as a direct result less visual glitches. And the custom mission thing is great. Why BIS, why must you force me to spend my money. :'(
did you just say no glitches :v:
