If you don't have OA, can you join someone who is playing on a custom island and only has OA?
two different engine/game versions.. so probably not. OA has a reworked sound engine as well as optimizations and new post processing effects for the graphics engine, so I'd guess it will be too different. [editline]11:30PM[/editline] also.. 1 month to go.. glad there is a demo?
I liked the setting of Arma II more. I would have preferred an expansion to Arma 2, but this looks fun. Definitely buying it when it comes out.

(But user mods take care of that)
well it's a standalone expansion, but it doesn't expand on the story... you're delta force, not razor team (which is supposed to be fighting in OA)
Looks alright, I'll probably buy it.
That's my birthday! :buddy:
Me too!
holy shit guys join the fuck up http://steamcommunity.com/games/arma2oa because of http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1642729#post1642729 spread the word
Done, and Done
Hmmm i hope that they fix the command bug where you say something but it plays in like 15 diffrent voices
If anyone is looking for a group to play Arma 2 with, we're setting up an Insurgent clan for Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. If you are interested PM me or add me on steam.
Oh god I can't wait, I wonder if mods work with it from arma 2.
Here is an article with some new information in it aswell. Has a lot of stuff about the BLUFOR/OPFOR and their weapons/vehicles and also the three new maps that come with Operation Arrowhead. http://www.armedassault.info/index.php?game=1&cat=articles&class=articles&id=43
Needs more Canada.
canada needs you... to make your own units
Needs more Canada.
Take a look at Operation Northstar. If Bohemia Interactive was American you wouldn't see Czech or German units in OA.
not that they made their own american camo textures [editline]04:24AM[/editline] *cough*
Ahaha take a look at this: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/arma2operationarrowheadboycott Someone already tries to start a boycott group [editline]08:51AM[/editline] and it's canadian [editline]08:52AM[/editline] They said "until they fix the original arma2 bugs" but arma2 will be updated with the same engine changes as oa? so what are they on about
It is a Joke group Mainly
That Arrowhead group has posted an event called "500 members" and is stating that something new will be announced soon, exclusively to the group.
And that event is over an Hour and a Half late

Bohemia has to continue support for Vanilla Arma 2 seeing as players that install Arrowhead will be running the same executable. Meaning all engine changes, have to go across both platforms. And not only that, the expansion is wildly praised upon by the community. And that's a pretty large fan base. This just seems like one of those "look at me" groups. The same argument was valid on the L4D2 Boycott. I thought they where 2 totally different games, and knew Valve would continue to support the first. I sometimes wonder who flopped a steamer in the gene pool.
... the game went gold today.
Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead has gone gold, with the final master disc sent for manufacturing. A2OA will be released on 29th June 2010
http://twitter.com/IDEAGames/status/15633747666 BIS says they think it's fair to call it a complete game, rather than an expansion. There is enough content... ...
