No shit, Sherlock. Ofcourse it's set up, what do you think. Some random dudes break into their server and fuck around with everything, and they're going to pretend like it's an adventure!
It started out with their friends sneaking onto their server and setting up traps and stuff, and when they realized that was a lot more interesting than watching them run around repetitive dimly lit caves, looking for diamonds, they decided to turn it into an RPG.
The big turning point is pretty much the episode after they build the nether-portal. That's when the let's-play ends and the adventure begins.
I was actually replying to Lex, he changed his post though.

Actually didn't there friends set the adventure up.
Simon and lewis knew somthing was going to happen but they didn't know what, and they don't know where the adventure is going unless told by the "NPCs".
That's why the reactions to everything are so real, because they ARE real.

Check the 17th shadow of israphel video, look at the part where honeydew spawns the gold ingots. It's all definitely set up, not just by their friends.

They've said in interviews that their friends set everything up, they're just playing it. They've said it's a "D&D experience."
Love the voice impersonations they do, but sometimes it gets a little annoying.
I wonder why they're wasting what, 15? 20? euros for each new "NPC"s they have in the world. Unless they have some sortof nickname changer mod for the server.. If that's the case I do want.

I think they mentioned that they blew a few hundred pounds on new accounts. As far as I can tell, though, a name changing mod that changes the nameplate above your head is impossible, at least for a server-side mod.
Those accounts will be celebrities by the end of the adventure. Everyone's going to want to have the Israphel account.

What about the Granny Bacon account?
Oh wow, if each of the map pieces has its own little set piece town, this series will be enormous. That pirate bay city looks pretty huge.
I can't wait to when they go to the dwarf city under bedrock.
Intrested to how BBQ bay pans out.

I thought they just use a name changing mod. Would it not cost a fortune to have a load of characters?
I hope when they are done with the series they release the map, it would be cool to just wonder around on.
They actually have a museum server with the map but it's not updated to what's currently going on in the series.
