Aluminium. Al-ooh-mini-um
I didn't know mini was one syllable :downs:
Aluminium. Al-ooh-mini-um. It's how it's spelt. Same thing goes for "herbs". Why Americans pronounce it "Erbs" is beyond me.
Pronunciation isn't something that everyone understands fully. Clearly.
Oh i'm sorry i thought it said "Reasonably priced" at the start
Aluminum isn't slept Aluminium. Uh-loo-min-um. Also, it's a silent H
Well you wouldn't pronounce sodium so-dum would you?
I was going to buy this set up, I'm just wondering what you guys think. http://secure.newegg.ca/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=12444651
So, did they buy a case?
What the shit. Hey guys I built a reasonably priced gaming computer. It's got two 6-core CPU's and 24 gigs of RAM. Also 4 gtx 480. 1. that won't be reasonable 2. you could run crysis on 120 fps at max settings and only use less than half of that machine.
Except it'd run crysis at about 60 fps and not 120, less at higher res / AA.
4 GRAPHICS CARDS. Why?!
That PSU is going to blow the fuck up. Seriously, 4 GTX480's can slightly surpass 1200w on their own. Factor in everything else and they're asking for catastrophe. And how could they go all out like that and not even build some full water-cooling loops? A loop for the Xeon's and a loop for the 480's. [editline]04:07PM[/editline] Oh, and :20bux: says the 3D monitors are Alienware.
Aluminium. Al-ooh-mini-um. It's how it's spelt. Same thing goes for "herbs". Why Americans pronounce it "Erbs" is beyond me.
Because Herb is French, and the French H is usually always silent.
On the list thing they made at the start it said "Build a Reasonably Priced Gaming PC" but the rest of the video is "hurr durr let's burn money" [editline]asdfasd[/editline] Also they wasted fucktons of money on "SUP3R UB3R 1337 PR0 GAM3R GEAR" and nVidia 3D Vision, seriously the max I would pay for a mouse is £15
I think that they added it just to make it look appealing to people who have no knowledge about building computers. I don't blame them either, otherwise, people are going to say how "laaaaaaaaaaammmmee" PCs are just because of the case, keyboard, and mouse.
4 GRAPHICS CARDS. Why?!
why not :c00lbert:
That tinyurl seems to fishy for me. I think I'll pass.
Only dual Xeons? Why not quad? Heck, those ones can do 8-processor systems. 96 cores (counting SMT).
I don't know why you're bitching about buying an expensive mouse or keyboard, I have 70$ mouse and I don't regret it at all, it is so much better than anything else I've ever used. Same with my keyboard.
Who would waste that much money on a mouse?! Unless it's made out of pure diamond and guaranteed to last through 5 nuclear warheads blasting right on top of it, I would never pay anything over $20 for the whole keyboard/mouse set. I never even touch wireless, because TRUE gamers know that wireless = bad response time.
Only dual Xeons? Why not quad? Heck, those ones can do 8-processor systems. 96 cores (counting SMT).
Because Xeon is a "cool" word compared to "quad". They're trying to appeal to people who've never heard of building a computer.
meh, a FULL build like my own rips through everything and doesn't cost more than 1000 even with the monitor... (Q6600, Asus P5E, Gigabite 1 GB GTX 460, 250GB Caviar + 640GB Elements, Silverstone PS-05B, Corsair VX550, Samsung 2243NWX monitor, MX518, G11, Razer Destructor, Sennheiser HD201, it's all fairly old stuff except for the 460 which still destroys all i throw at it)
why not :c00lbert:
Cause it wastes energy like a motherfucker when you only need one to play modern games at full settings.
Because Xeon is a "cool" word compared to "quad". They're trying to appeal to people who've never heard of building a computer.
Right now, they have two Xeons. They could be running four Xeons or eight Xeons. They'd still have the "Xeon" fancy name, which really only indicates multiprocessor capabilities (as opposed to multicore) and an increased cache. And "Octa Xeons" sounds pretty sci-fi, if you ask me.
Good lord, there's too much "1337 pr0 g@ming" bullshit in the video for me to handle.
i spaced out in the middle of the video it was too stupid for my mind to take
Love the MLG sticker. Nice touch there.
discussion about aluminum and aluminium is now over, please return to the topic
Wikipedia isn't a trusted source.
Wikipedia isn't a trusted source.
Lol'd.
Wikipedia isn't a trusted source.
Ahahaha
