My god, you should, in no way, be arguing your case. [editline]02:03PM[/editline]
Guys I have something better 5x Windows copies with W7 as a main and Xp-95 running on a virtual machine 16x Intel xeon quad CPUs XD 8x HD5870 2GB overclocked in Crossfire and SLI and stuff 80GhZ RAM PSU wattage over 9000!!!!!!1!!1 :D :D :D :D This is what the video says to me.
Die for your sins.
Who needs 48 GBs of ram when 8GB is the most perfect amount? GameSpot, why are you going into even a bigger shithole?
Wikipedia isn't a trusted source.
To the contrary, I'd say it was one of the more reliable sources. Most of my school teachers are like "hurr durr anyone can edit it so not reliable" but then again, anyone can have their own website and post whatever bullshit they want. Wikipedia, however, has moderators. If there is something that seems illegitimate or anything they either remove it or ask for a source.
24 Gigs of Ram? Isn't that a bit overkill considering that when we do get to the point that 24gigs of Ram is viable, that EVERYTHING else in that PC will be ancient? Unless you want to run 20 Instances of Windows 7 or something...
Un-needed overkill. Still good mang.
Wonder if I should even bother getting a new psu when I upgrade, because 600 watt seems to me like enough to run 2 480s an i7 and a couple of HDDs.
Al-yu-min-yin? Al-loo-min-im. I tried to go on, but they kept showing all of the "L33t Pr0" bullshit like the keyboard and the mouse mat, but the stupidity was too much.
Even the fucking koreans use simple keyboards. This is clearly a marketing video.
This shit makes me want to kill my self. That shit probably cost $5000+, when you can build a $1000 rig that'll last you several years, and they're just being fucking dumb asses by spending that much on a single computer. I hope these people never try to spread their knowledge EVER again. Fucking dumb asses [editline]11:57AM[/editline] Well, their lack of knowledge.
What the shit. Hey guys I built a reasonably priced gaming computer. It's got two 6-core CPU's and 24 gigs of RAM. Also 4 gtx 480. 1. that won't be reasonable 2. you could run crysis on 120 fps at max settings and only use less than half of that machine.
And you won't be able to play it more than 30mins, you will probably get your house burning
Wonder if I should even bother getting a new psu when I upgrade, because 600 watt seems to me like enough to run 2 480s an i7 and a couple of HDDs.
600W is like, just enough to run a 480 with headroom for everything else, without worrying about maxing the PSU out if I remember. 480s' don't exactly have the smallest power requirements, especially when run with an i7 which you may overclock.
lol a british chinese guy
Man i wanna fuck that chick so hard while playing the PC.
On the list thing they made at the start it said "Build a Reasonably Priced Gaming PC" but the rest of the video is "hurr durr let's burn money" [editline]asdfasd[/editline] Also they wasted fucktons of money on "SUP3R UB3R 1337 PR0 GAM3R GEAR" and nVidia 3D Vision, seriously the max I would pay for a mouse is £15
£15 for a mouse? I bought mine for 70 euro. And all i wanted was a normal mouse with laser.. I am interested in what kind of mouse you could get for that price.
wrong
It's been a while since I've looked at benchmarks for that card. Seeing as I don't really need to know them off by heart. Probably should have looked anyway.
The guy at the start looks like a faggot
If I won, I'd sell the GTX480s. I don't want my whole house burning.
i hate pro gamers and anything associated with them.
They ruin games.
The GTX480s are way too much, considering how one GTS 250 eventually, although it took a year or two, made my computer smoke. It was just the power supply, but still, it's not going to last more than a year or two.
Someone in the hardware section linked a YT video that explained this shit. 1200W should be more than enough. [editline]10:59AM[/editline] Found it:
This Gamespot computer's also using two CPU's and something like 12 sticks of RAM. I'd still say 1200w is cutting it close.
My computer sucks and I can't run IL2-Strumovik with making my pc crappier so that pc won't be able to run games that were made before 2005.
/GSUKCOMP. I know, I'm sure it was pointed out but I just thought it was funny.
Capability for 54GB of RAM... The future is here :unsmith:
Computer illiterates? UB3R AW3SOM3 G4MING!!! WITH 4 000 GTX480's, 1 TB of RAM and 200 000 000 of TB HARD DRIVE, CAN RUN CRYSIS AT 1 BILLION FPS!1!!!11!!one. Oh and let's not forget. MICROPHONE over 50$ to communicate with people ON-LINE, WITH AWESOME KEYBOARD OVER 100$! MOUSE ALSO 100$ /caps
I'm amazed at how much money a person can thrown into a system like this.
That PSU is going to blow the fuck up. Seriously, 4 GTX480's can slightly surpass 1200w on their own. Factor in everything else and they're asking for catastrophe. And how could they go all out like that and not even build some full water-cooling loops? A loop for the Xeon's and a loop for the 480's. [editline]04:07PM[/editline] Oh, and :20bux: says the 3D monitors are Alienware.
Part 2: Lets clean up the bits of the Greatest Gaming Rig.
Part 2: Lets clean up the bits of the Greatest Gaming Rig.
Water-cooling. no dusting is needed.
I always hated GameSpot.com, I stopped visiting the site entirely after the whole Jeff Gerstmann incident, which was followed by the resignation of four more editors.
It takes them six weeks to build a computer?
I stopped watching when he said "Two cpus"
