I think multiple "Garbage chutes" would be more useful, "O SHIT I DROPPED A DIAMOND BY ACCIDENT". Fear not, you can just get it from the bottom of the chute or whatever place the chute delivers the trash if theres some kind of a water flow down there. Without having to take a dip into lava. Edit: But yeah whatever, incinerators are cool :>
Or y'know, we could have it all leading to a collective few blocks. like so
X W X X X X X X W W W W A X X X X X X D X X HOT STUFF HERE X = generic dirt/whatever W/A = Water/Air (dipshit) D = Door block (could be glass to break etc)
Now we simply drop all items in and they end up ontop of this one glass block and a high ranking officer or someone can sort through and see what's needed and burn the rest (it could just be open when no resources are needed(into the lava i mean)) if you drop your diamond shirt then collect it as soon as you can otherwise you deserve to lose it (stuff travels in water quite slowly at times) [editline]10:16AM[/editline]
Made a video demonstrating this, Uploading too youtube.
Well done good sir, rated heart.
:clint: Just doin what I do.
While I'm here, anyone know why my Minecraft only gets 1 - 4 fps, it used to get 10 - 90
And how will water carry the blocks into lava when the contact between the two creates stone. HOW DO YOU ANSWER THAT MISTER NOT-SO-NERDY.
Just felt the need to post that.
As far as the items get destroyed I do not care :v: By the way why making it so complicated? Just a pit with lava and a cobblestone 2 blocks above it and there.
Oh, yeah, French horns are the curly ones. I'll assist with this shindig, just as long as I'm not expected to show up everyday, and constantly be there. [editline]09:47PM[/editline] How about a recycling system? Like, all the stuff that gets thrown away gets put into a pit, where workers sort through all the stuff, which they have to give a certain percent of back to the economy and the keep say, 5-10 percent of what they find. How 'bout that? There'd need to be some guards looking to see if they take too much, but maybe they're allocated a certain amount of Diamonds that they're able to take and if they go over they get kicked out, sent to the deserts of Facepunchistan, where they must come back with TWO HUNDRED DIAMONDS to be let back in, which would keep the economy going, might cause a little bit of inflation, so the amount of diamonds might have to be lessened depending on how the economy is going, and what there is a shortage of at that time.
I'll work hard to get currency flowing as a member of Council as one of my first Civic duties once city construction is underway. Also, instruments will make bars/taverns/events so much better, and if we get some decent composers, it'll actually be worthwhile going to said places, which means alcohol/food can be bought to assist social interaction in bars at night time, which means that currency can get kick started, as we can require gold to be paid for drinks and such as well as entry. But rather than kick them out, just trust them to not steal stuff, they'll be paid for the service and all the local traders who would deal with buying/selling the sorts of stuff being disposed of are aware of the recyclers and told to report if they're offered wares from them. Of course, they could still do it, but the risk of harsh penalties if discovered offering/accepting, plus the presence of government workers posing as illegal sellers from time to time, would be enough to defer most people.
Can we make a list of 'Government' jobs? So we don't forget our ideas. So we have: Guards Garbage Sorter Just add on to this :)

Wait, I have an idea! so yes, we get the sewers in every house and it all goes down to one point, where is a door. Every day, we open that door, letting the water, and the garbage into the lava pit This can be done by redstone of course. Of course this only works if the doors block water, and once it's out of the way, it lets the water pass.

I'm just hesitant to have a system that destroys all things tossed away. I think most things have a use beyond garbage. Gravel makes good filler for building and landscaping, sand makes glass, and saplings are good for tree-farming. Those are the only things I'd even consider throwing away and those are even somewhat useful.

I throw away useless things, like armor with only 1 health left
Except that is still not a vuvuzela.
I know but I think its cooler I am sure as hell that they did use like wooden Vuvuzellas with banners on them in ancient war.
Oh, yeah, French horns are the curly ones. Do you mean a Bugle? ..I can guarantee we didn't have vuvuzelas in the middle ages.
Vuvuzelas have been used in South African tribes for thousands of years, and then were made out of bone, ivory, or wood. He isn't thinking of a Vuvuzela, he is thinking of the horns that a bunch of people would blow when a king/queen would enter somewhere.
He isn't thinking of a Vuvuzela, he is thinking of the horns that a bunch of people would blow when a king/queen would enter somewhere.
Yeah, as far as I know it has no special name. Just a Horn.
Yeah, that would be a horn or a trumpet. Maybe even a bugle.
Yes he did.
Proof or it didn't happen. Also that's a dumb thing to do and people are gonna rage. Usually used to announce that the king has arrived? Yeah that's either a trumpet or it's just called a horn. I thought the whole point of the sewers was garbage disposal.. it should all flow into some pool of water where people can grab items that have been thrown away.
so my minecraft client just got updated with a working "multiplayer" button that requests an invite code. this happen to anyone else?
so my minecraft client just got updated with a working "multiplayer" button that requests an invite code. this happen to anyone else?
That's the private SMP Beta. Invite codes are only given to people in Notch's private circle-jerk.
Fuck, wrong thread.
