You guys have made this huge deal with who is going to lead the workers in building the city, but have you got any workers? I will be one, if I'm allowed.
You guys have made this huge deal with who is going to lead the workers in building the city, but have you got any workers? I will be one, if I'm allowed.
I think anyone is allowed to be a worker.
So it's basically Ragnarok Online/Runescape trading in a building? Both put in what they want, both have to press a button, and only after that you can get your items traded. Good idea.

Yea but what happens when both parties are satisfied and one of them opens the others door and then the other guy just walks out without opening his. Trading houses will become prisons for the unwary.
The fuck? A guy before me, and me, both said that and it was completely ignored.
How is the city going to be organized and maintained AFTER it has been built. Is there going to be a form of government?
I see we have many gates through out the city, how will these work?
I see we have many gates through out the city, how will these work?
Notch said he wants implement gates.
The sewer should also be used as a donation system. Cause if you throw stuff into the toilet, it should bring it to the bank.
How about we have a lava drainage system, where at particular times of the day there a certain room is flooded with lava, destroying all the un-useable trash in there, that the people haven't sorted already. Opinions? [editline]05:18PM[/editline] Oh! I thought up an idea because of what Agent Texas said, or I remembered an old one, more like. Last night I thought that we might give wood/stone/dirt grants to people wanting to start up mining businesses and form farms and stuff, say we give them enough wood to build a farm, where they can mine. Actually, guys, can I collaborate a list of jobs? I'd like to start thinking about that stuff, and how much particular jobs are paid, promotions, loyalty raises, budgets, free pickaxes and such for miners and jobs like that. Can I?
If it contributes positively about Facepunch City, nobody will mind. I will find it interesting myself, so please do.
Mkay. I'll be taking criticism on whatever the jobs are, and the list will probably be entirely modified in the end. [editline]05:33PM[/editline] I'll write in in Word first, then copy & paste it into here.
are yall gonna have lava wells on the walls for dumpin' on attackers?
are yall gonna have lava wells on the walls for dumpin' on attackers?
Woah, I never thought about that. That is REALLY cool!
This is what I've got so far: Boss Man (name not final) – The ruler of Facepunchistan, makes the final decision regarding people matters, building of town buildings and things like that. Gets a percentage of all the minerals mined, and is given a grant for the buildings of Memorials, state buildings and any type of government funded housing. Nominated by contribution to the cause, elected by Facepunch poll. One of these Treasurer (Name probably final) – Makes the final decision regarding money matters (still able to be vetoed by the Boss Man), is in control of the banks, is in charge of giving out grants. Also in charge of redistribution of any and all confiscated goods, and government worker’s salary. Position is chosen by the Boss Man, but is able to be kicked out by the Board of Advisor if they aren’t coming on regularly and doing their job right. Only one of these

Only one of these
So your talking about government jobs. I recommend you change the names to Monarch and Government Financier. Add these: Guard - City General Defense. Defense Minister - In charge of the cities defense.
So is the city going to be a monarcy or a dictatorship? Count me out, that doesn't sound fun >_>
So your talking about government jobs. I recommend you change the names to Monarch and Government Financier. Add these: Guard - City General Defense.
Woah, I never thought about that. That is REALLY cool!
seems kinda obvious though
Also I did Policeman, which is like an agency, outside of the guards. They're a different job, I'll post more soon. [editline]06:13PM[/editline]
So is the city going to be a monarcy or a dictatorship? Count me out, that doesn't sound fun >_>
Not gonna be either, it's a democracy, the reason that I did the Leaders job first was so that people could read it and go, oh, it's a democracy, cool!
Actually, I just did Guard, and the name of the Boss Man was original the Monarch, but I thought that sounded a bit silly.
Boss Man VS Monarch? Where in history have I heard Monarch... I guess you're right; Boss Man is definitely the way to go. /sarcasm
emperor sounds better
I would prefer a Parliament over anything though.
I've said it before, the best way to have a city defense is to institutte a militia law where any citizen who observes others in danger or commiting wrong doings is obligated to take up arms and act. @Jacinth
Monarch (name not final) – The ruler of Facepunchistan, makes the final decision regarding people matters, building of town buildings and things like that. Gets a percentage of all the minerals mined, and is given a grant for the buildings of Memorials, state buildings and any type of government funded housing. Can invoke Martial Law. Nominated by contribution to the cause, elected by Facepunch poll. One of these Government Financier (Name probably final) – Makes the final decision regarding money matters (still able to be vetoed by the Boss Man), is in control of the banks, is in charge of giving out grants. Also in charge of redistribution of any and all confiscated goods, and government worker’s salary. Position is chosen by the Boss Man, but is able to be kicked out by the Board of Advisor if they aren’t coming on regularly and doing their job right. Only one of these Advisor in the board (Name not final) – This is basically like the board of representatives in a corporation, mixed with a senate. The Advisors, gain no grants, and must remain impartial so that they can make decisions without it being biased. Are allowed to own property, but mustn’t receive any money from it, if they do, they get kicked out of the board, and will need to give all the money gained to the treasurer so that it can be put back into circulation, is in control of Government worker firing, and hiring. Chosen by the Boss Man. Nine of these. Guard (name probably final) – Not the same as a policeman, specifically guards the government officials, documents, cashey money, restricted areas and landmarks from acts of terror. Is the army for the government, if found to be taking bribes, or are corrupt, they are stripped of rank, and are not eligible for any grants, government funding or welfare payments. Also able to be assassins, when on an assassination mission, all crimes are forgiven, as long as they are in the path of the mission. Assassinations can only be done by Guards over the rank of Corporal, when they are trusted. Controlled by the Military Commander, and the Commander in Chief. Ranks are; • Private • Corporal • Sergeant • Lieutenant • Major • Captain There is no limit to the amount of guards employed. Policeman (name final) – Controlled not by the actual government, but are a separate agency, which enforces the law. What they can do without a warrant; • Hand out fines • Make arrests • Kill in self defence • Perform a raid on a citizen building, as long as nothing is taken or damaged. Things that must be done with a warrant; • Raiding a government building • Investigational arrests (must have evidence) Controlled by the Police Commander. No limit to employment, no ranks.

Guy 1 attacks Guy 2. Guy 2 tells [police] Guy 1 attacked him. Guy 1 tells [police] that Guy 2 killed/attacked someone. Then how could the [police] tell who is telling the truth?
List of Jobs.
So Guards and Police are like Britain, with the Queens Guards and then the regular civilian police. I get that.
where are the honor guards?
where are the honor guards?
Thats pretty much the GUARD job stated above. You're American, I can tell. xD
Yeah, Guards can't make arrests and are allowed not to enforce the law if they don't want to, but the police have to or they get JAIL TIME.
no i mean the monarch's personal arm... i mean body guards :v:
