If we're going to be having wars, we can't have the spawn point be the centre of our town. Any enemies killed would just respawn within our walls.
It would be cool to have a mod where the player (if killed by the enemy team) would spawn in a jail inside the other teams base.

If your talking about the maps then yes it is infinite.

You have unlimited blocks in creative (free) mode. Where maps are currently limited.
You have semi-unlimited blocks in /game/ (premium survival) mode. This is because you start with no blocks but can mine/chop/dig blocks out of the map which is something like 4 times the surface area of the planet.

Good point, maybe we should skip building the city at the spawn.
There should be signs pointing to the city from the spawn so that you can find your way, but the actual city should be fairly far from the spawn, IMHO.
I thought in the OP it said we would have people gather resources while others find a place to settle. Then we meet up and build.

Well, if the spawn point is the same, and we're planning on having multiple cities in the future, why don't we then have roads there leading to each of the cities, like a crossroads?
