Well, if they're going to build over the wall, why not just sue the main gate? This is probably just going to be an anti-grief measure to keep the walls in place so they don't get ripped down. We can always make the lava stream go low than the wall and into the ground.

I think that we should add cannons to the walls. With the TNT trick
I think we need to base our walls on ShadowMarche castle.
Basically they had these 'original keep walls':

Looks pretty awesome, somewhat simple.
Pretty much, make the walls usable, in Shadowmarche they have guard barracks built into the walls which is a pretty cool idea, we could do something similar.

People can get over anything. The thing is how to keep people from greifing the walls. Fill them with lava.

Mmm.. you should allow people to build just outside of the city walls aswell, and be considered part of the city. City expansion. If it expands enough maybe add more walls.
