According to notch's twitter, all our items and chests will be reset after we log out.
That's pretty dumb.
That's pretty dumb.
Yeah. Wow. Pretty much ruins it for me.
Yeah. Wow. Pretty much ruins it for me.
yea, that pretty much sucks. It's because notch isn't going to be able to finish server side inventory management before smp is released. if only we could have some kind of script which would record all of the items we had when we logged out, and then inventory edited them all back in when we joined again. It would be cheating, but at least we could log out without losing everything.
Yeah. Wow. Pretty much ruins it for me.
Its not permanent.
also, will we have cops in the city? :v: imagine: some person tries to break into someones house and succeeds, said person is armed with iron sword. Cops see it and person fights back. Person is eliminated at the blade of the cop's diamond swords. Prehaps also "follow us to jail or you die kthxbai" if someone breaks the citys "laws" :cop:

I'm Santa Claus, except instead of coal or presents I leave you unlit TNT or lit TNT
That's pretty dumb.
Well we can still build the city walls and bare structures.
Can I make a really long powered minecart train for supplies and players to get around to different destinations?
Overview: [img_thumb]http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n418/LightWarriorK/Shadowmarch/shadowmarchiso1.png[/img_thumb]
That's awesome. But how did you get the overview of a creative map? On the topic of walls its pointless making them so complex, people can just build a pilar and then make a bridge over the top :frown:
Aslong as you have high enough walls and keep the buildings out of atleast jumping distance from then i'd think it's pretty safe. I mean, Even if you can go above them with dirt, It's still pretty tedious to build bridges like that unless you have anything to build on, And how are you supposed to get saftely down? The only way is to jump down aslong as the walls have a T shape. So, Bridging over the lava ontop of the walls is going to take time if the walls are big, And if you jump down you're probably going to die if the walls are high enough. Would take forever to build walls of obsidian though. And take note that obsidian breaks just as well as cobblestone with tnt, But however as there isn't going to be any mobs in smp right now, There's probably not going to be a way of getting tnt without cheating. (If he even made tnt working yet, He said that most items will be working, but not all).

So all we need is a waterfall going over the walls, and then obsidian becomes worth the effort.
So we're starting this tomorrow?
So we're starting this tomorrow?
4 am, CT. brb going to bed
Agreed. [editline]04:37PM[/editline] According to notch's twitter, all our items and chests will be reset after we log out.
That's easily fixed. Never log out.
That's easily fixed. Never log out.
That's what I'm going to do. I'll just hide a few feet underground when I'm not there. That way when people are digging they can discover me. :3:
I'm guessing that we will have people that guard occasionally, but it will mostly be a civilian duty to defend other's property, since nobody wants the job of guard.
The Good Samaritan Law :v::pipe:

An idea brought up (I forgot who) was to deposit all of your items in a whole behind your house and pray it's there when you come back on.
SMP soon omfg!
An idea brought up (I forgot who) was to deposit all of your items in a whole behind your house and pray it's there when you come back on.
Great. Now every thief will look behind a person's house trying to find a hole. Thanks.
Great. Now every thief will look behind a person's house trying to find a hole. Thanks.
Well, you could dig one on the side of the house. Wait...
Can people live in a area outside of the city and go into the city to trade for supplies?
This thread is only rehashed questions now.
Then why dont you ANSWER them.
Then why dont you ANSWER them.
You could find it yourself, but yes. Yes you can.
While walls seem like a good idea, people can always dig under them.
