I tend to stay away with most subscription game as theres usually an alternative. I mean take wow for example - thousands of other mmo copies of the game and free. Maybe a few changes and differences here and there but for the most part the same.
There are some exceptions though - Eve online. Which technically can be free since you can pay with ingame currency.
