First of all, lots of people plays the game for the SP, if not MP and SP all together.
Second, you CAN play the MP portion of the game before launch. However, the chance of unauthorised players (aka unapproved beta testers) getting banned afterward in a banwave quite likely.

But I'm not only not going to buy it, I'm going to educate others as to why they shouldn't buy it either. Somebody is overly melodramatic. If Valve were to have retail copies of Episode 3 stolen, people would flip their shit. That's what you call a double standard, people, and Facepunch is full of them. If Episode 3 was stolen, I wouldn't give a shit. Wouldn't give a shit if they were making a new Tribes game and that got stolen. That isn't my problem, and has nothing to do with the point I was addressing.
I won't even download the Black Ops game if it goes up on the sites. Not interested. Black ops does look much better than MW2, they're not made by the same company so it's probably going to be an okay game.
