Valve wasn't even around when I started gaming so I can't really sympathize with you there but I can tell you MicroProse is the reason I'm into gaming today
I don't get how this is even a contest. No matter how much you like Minecraft, it's not about the games, it's about the company, and Valve is clearly a better company.

Valve has not impressed me lately. Personally, they only thing they've done right is Steam. They ruined TF2, released L4D2 and I'm still fucking waiting for Ep. 3. Valve, I am dissapoint.

I'm not worried in the end, even if Mojang manages to beat Valve. It's most likely not going to beat Bioware. (Bioware's got 21,272 at the moment) and if Mojang does beat bioware... that is a 'LOT' of sad people.

Personally I don't think TF2 was "ruined", It's updates are just extending one part of the game's life while the other part gets dragged alongside it.
Grinding for hats and items is boring, I'm sick and tired of my 100% pre-mannconomy inventory, and I wouldn't expect the new items to entertain me for more than a few hours, so I'd have to grind more if I wanted to have more fun. It's like a zombified game.
However I haven't played TF2 in a looong time, and don't intend on starting up again anytime soon.
