Why am I not surprised?
Sonic has been dead since Sonic 3 for me....anything after that is shit.
(Yes,even Sonic Heroes and whatnot)
They should just remake Shadow the Hedgehog and turn it into an FPS, then make profit. I mean, after all, the FPS genre is freaking PRO!
[/sarcasm]
Sonic shall now and forever be a recycle of:
-Shit games
-4kids anime
- Furry porn up the tailhole
-shitty fan art
- hopeless fan that keep hoping even though they know that in truth, Sonic and sega are dead.
And has a plane.
And has technical skills I think. Didn't he make the airplane himself?
Besides the fact that you can already play as Tails only in Sonic 3 and Knuckles, I totally support this, because the only other game starring completely Tails was Tails Adventure for the Sega Game Gear, and it was a bit lackluster.
Hah, forgot about that. The sonic and Knuckles part.
Seriously people complain he moves slow, it's because they want you to have time to react. It was like that in the older games as well. "It's too zoomed in then", actually not really, about the same as sonic 3 and knuckles.
People remember being a kid and going faster then Mario and having fucked up memories about the games. They aren't going to make sonic so fast that you have to memorize the entire stage by heart to get through it. The games fine and I'm having fun :v:
Also the homing attack is usually used to regain speed in mid air, least it's what I use it for, run up a wall and run straight up in the air like the old games, hit it and go flying forward
Last time I checked Sonic 1 was faster. YOU CAN'T MAKE A GAME ABOUT BEING FAST IF YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HITTING WALLS AND ENEMIES EVERY 5 SECONDS.
Uh... Sonic 1 was also like that. I remember having to worry about hitting springs, enemies or falling down holes/lava while running in Sonic 1, also enemies that pop out of the ground right infront of you, let's not forget the underwater stages, nothing fast or speedy about those.
Actually it was like that for all Sonic games on the Genesis.
All I see here is blind rage from a fan that overhyped the game, seriously, "Sonic's colours are wrong"? What the fuck? Are you also going to bitch about Sonic's eyes being green?
Jesus, are you Sonic fans never satisfied?
"omg they should just make a 2D sonic! these 3D ones suck dick nipples!"
"Wish granted!"
"omg it not 100% like the first ones! you lose good day sir!"
I'm obviously generalizing but still, almost every time new sonic game is released everyone bitches and complains about how it sucks and they should make a 2D one. Then when they do make a 2D one everyone still fucking complains, I mean what the fuck? This isn't the 90's, you have to expect things to be different.
Most people didn't complain about Sonic Rush and the Sonic Advance series, both games are 2D. Because you know, they were actually fast paced and fun.
am I the only one who fucking loved the sonic adventure series
I liked SA1 a bit and loved SA2 back in the gamecube days. I know a lot of people don't like it but still I think it was a pretty good game.

Hey, I liked those games too. Everyone started hating the series after Heroes.

Game seems pretty fun to me and I liked the originals so I don't know what climbed up everyone else's ass and died.
Wow, I just played the trial on XBLA and it was pretty good for an attempt at an old sonic game. You have to think one reason you loved the old ones so much is because you were a lot younger. If you had this game then you would probably jizz your pants.
no shit. I mean sonic, what were you thinking?
I love this game :D Its giving me the same feel I used to get with Sonics 1-3
I don't like the parts where you're forced to use the Lock-On though.
The fact is, most people under 20 never played Sonic 1, but simply remember it from "second hand information". In other words, everyone over 20 is like, Sonic was fast, and Sonic 2 was faster and Sonic 3 was so awesome and then Sonic Adventure was ok, and Sonic Adventure 2 was pretty bad but still had awesome sonic levels and everything else is rubbish hold forward.
Sonic 1 was never actually that fast. Go and play it. Especially the second level - Lava zone I think it was called? Or the Labyrinth Zone? SLOW SLOW SLOW. Speed in Sonic 1 was a reward. It was not the main part of the game. The levels were not simply left to right affairs but had layers and you could move back and forwards.
Living in Australia, we also got Sonic 1 on Master System (which was big over here). That was more like what most people describe, a fast scrolling left to right run and jump game. Some levels wouldn't even let you move backwards. But the last level, Scrambled Brain or something, was also slow and full of puzzles.
It seems the "fans" today are people who never played the Original when it came out. I know kids that are fourteen that complain about how lame Sonic is today and how the originals they "played as a kid" were so awesome. How would they know. The original came out 6 years before they were born. They were born in 96, and Playstation was just being released around that time. When they were old enough to even hold a controller, the Xbox and PS2 were current.

AKA Sonic Advance 3
Sonic 4 is way better than that garbage because you actually get a sense of speed for more then .5 seconds.
I'm 19 and my first Console video game was Sonic 2. Never played 1 till like 10 years later.

Of course they can use emulators. However, that will never compare to the feeling of using the ol' Genesis 3 button control.
I played the classic sonic games when I was a kid. But then again I was born in '93

There was actually this Sonic collection game for the Gamecube a few years ago which had sonics 1-3 on it, as well as some material from some other earlier games.
And on the issue of the music, what is it like? The original chiptune? Or is it the same excruciatingly cheesy music that they started to use come Sonic Adventure 1.
Because looking back now, those songs were actually so unbearable that they aren't even much good for nostalgia value. At least after Sonic Adventure 2, but even that is debatable.
The fact is im fucking gay

They need to megaman 9 it. Go back to 8bit graphics, with new gameplay.

But it's not.

the only thing that has changed in this thread is the amount of hope people had that sonic 4 would be a good game despite sega basically being as incompetent as possible.
