I've been a fan since Sonic 1 and I played them all on the sega megadrive, I still play them all now from time to time cos there great, I played the trial of this yestarday and I loved it I think it's back to the old classics really I mean okay Sonic looks weird there isn't as much speed but I found it really fun, I am happy sonic team listened to its fans and brought the classics back after so many awful 3d sonic games. I do like the positive reviews about it to and hope sonic team keep to their 2d Sonic route, let's hope they don't screw it up again.
It annoys me when people refer to Sega when they talk about who made this, it was made by Dimps. Not Sega.
It also annoys me when people use their instead of there or they're, learn the differences please.

Actually the first bit of that post was relevant to the thread, so yeah v:v:v It [i]is[/i] made by Dimps and not the normal Sonic Team (aside from the lead designer who worked on Sonic 3.) That's why it isn't absolute bollocks. The Dimps Sonic games are always pretty good (see: Sonic Rush, Sonic Advance.)
Shit dude, this game was pretty average. I would of played it just to see the continuation of Sonic 3+K, but theres ONE fucking thing that makes the game unplayable. The physics, as people have stated. Leaving the ground makes you lose ALL speed. Jumping stops you in your tracks. ffffff
The Gear Zone boss pissed me the frakk off. Took me an hour to beat him. Taking abreak before I beat the EGG Station zone.

Sonic CD was average, meh
Sonic 3 and Knuckles was the best 2D Sonic game, Sonic Adventure 2 the best 3D.
Sonic Dash was pretty good.

My problem with this game, why did they have to call it Sonic 4? Why try to cram it in with those excellent games of the 90's. Even Nintendo, who still make FANTASTIC Mario games, wouldn't ever bring back a Super Mario Bros. 4. You just don't do it. And while this game might not suck, it might not even be mediocre, trying to bill it as a continuation of the Genesis franchise is just silly and obviously only there to get people excited.
That really bums me out.

People who trash this game seem to forget that it is an EPISODIC GAME. The "Episode 1" is slapped on there for a reason. The game wasn't just a senseless rehashing of Sonic 1 and 2 mixed together, it was the first part of a new story.
