I got one too,we take four awfully different people and put them in the middle of a Zombie Apocalypse I call it Four Left Dead.
I got an unfunny idea, yours.
Who said they were running around? It could be somebody trapped inside a store, or on a building rooftop, or any other safe area.
I can't imagine people would like a game where you stay at one place
I can't imagine people would like a game where you stay at one place
Nazi Zombies, but most of the people that like it are 9-12 year olds.
Anyway,This reminds me of Cloverfield, with a cinematic, Realism like touch to it.
And it's not retarded to do so when fucking Godzilla attacks? There's a lot of retarded stuff in both movies and games, and this is not the most retarded one.
As I said, it makes little sense to walk around a zombie infested town with a camera. If other movies/games did it, it makes just as little sense.
The camera gimmick would be sweet for a part of the game but it'd have to change This shit could get really fucking annoying after 3 hours
Why would you switch to a headset camera only when you have your gun out? That makes no sense, I'd just have it on the whole time. I'd rather have a gun out most of the time.
I guess I could make it an option
I think the idea is bad and focuses too much around one aspect. What we need is a true survival zombie game with a lot of freedom.
Could you name a few?
Name a few what? Freeroam zombie games? As far as I know there isn't any. That's the problem
As I said, it makes little sense to walk around a zombie infested town with a camera. If other movies/games did it, it makes just as little sense.
It's a zombie game what needs to make sense? The guy could be a news reporter or some shit and reporting on the outbreak. The world isn't completely taken over by zombies, people like being informed. Does that make enough sense?
Name a few what? Freeroam zombie games? As far as I know there isn't any. That's the problem
What things would you want? Things that NEED to happen in a zombie game that you never see in games today?
I think that instead of the ear camera, when the player takes a gun out, he sets it down and the game goes into a resident evil style view from where the camera is, and when holstered the player runs to it and picks it up again. If he had the ear camera it would make for inconsistent footage. if i had the ear cam i would run it at all times instead of the camcorder.

I need to think more about it though.
What things would you want? Things that NEED to happen in a zombie game that you never see in games today?
Survival, barricading, freeroam. All/most buildings enterable. Tons of locations, weapons and stuff.
Sounds like that Michigan: Report from Hell, except you use your video camera to document weird monsters and shit, no real zombies in it.
Survival, barricading, freeroam. All/most buildings enterable. Tons of locations, weapons and stuff.
Fallout 3 size?
Survival, barricading, freeroam. All/most buildings enterable. Tons of locations, weapons and stuff.
suuuuuuuupppppeeeeerrrrrr generic.
suuuuuuuupppppeeeeerrrrrr generic.
What's not generic.
Name a few what? Freeroam zombie games? As far as I know there isn't any. That's the problem
aren't dead rising 1 and 2 freeroam zombie games
suuuuuuuupppppeeeeerrrrrr generic.
If it were so generic then why has no one done it?
It's a zombie game what needs to make sense? The guy could be a news reporter or some shit and reporting on the outbreak. Does that make enough sense?
I have an idea: How about you play a guy with one of those big, news reporter style cameras, and you don't get any weapons? You could bash a zombie with the camera from time to time, but that wouldn't do much to kill it. I'm thinking Quarantine style.

When you officially start the game the camera kind of opens up like cloverfield where it plays a recorded video before the infection/disaster. The recorded video acts like a tutorial, you move your camera around with the mouse and walk with the wasd keys etc. but each camera has its own video that gives the character a different personality. Something like that
I think the movie I Am Legend pretty much sums up the idea of this game.
I think the movie I Am Legend pretty much sums up the idea of this game.
To be fair, the zombies in I Am Legend were not TECHNICALLY zombies.
I think the movie I Am Legend pretty much sums up the idea of this game.
How?
Defending a shelter, finding food, that kind of stuff.
He is right, that movie does pretty much sum up what it is. Obviously minus the part about the labs and shit.
Was reading the book a bit earlier. [editline]21st October 2010[/editline] Maybe as an option at the start of the game you could have a companion or a child that you have to feed along with yourself, adding an extreme difficulty to the game.
