Never played Mirrors Edge but that sure does look amazing...

There's a demo out, you should give it a try. It isn't as clunky and confusing as Gothic 3 or Risen. The combat is basically the same, but not the same. You have your block, but only if you're standing still, the block key and a movement key will just roll you in that direction. Then you can click spam for swings, or click and click again when your weapon has a small glow effect for a split second to perform a flourish. I'm sure when you hit a certain level you can unlock the ability to hold down and do a power attack but Hell if I know. That's about it. Much simpler and less confusing, and I like it more for it... I liked Gothic 3's combat system too though
mass effect 2 and Risen
I love the unreal engine, some of the games on it have really beautiful vistas an such.
Gears of war 2 as well.

WoW will never be the same for me because of the loss of Outland. Hanging out and raiding BC's content was fascinating. Too bad nobody gives a shit about it anymore. Pics all related.

world of goo looked pretty nice
I also think a lot of UE3 games have nice scenery but they get brownified most of the time
Silent Hill 5 was pretty mediocre, but I enjoyed the scenery quite a bit.

I agree, I also think that the buildings were scaled very realistically, more-so than most other games nowadays...
ArmA II looks nice in dark areas. Colors fade and it's hard to notice things during the night. It's a game where you actually want a light so you can see where you're going.
