is anyone else here thinking of getting a copy for ps3/4? (is ps4 release even confirmed?) I actually really like how the game plays on a controller, at least for casual play, I was impressed from what I've seen of course it'll still suck for end game content and pvp but what can you do

If only the game would stop crashing =[
I think it's a lot more fun with a controller. If only the game would stop crashing =[
Have you tried it? It look's that way from the video's I've seen, it just seems like a really cool and different experience playing it on console sort of. doesn't hurt to grab it for PS3 I guess anyways, it's all under the same shared account anywho
[t]http://i.imgur.com/cyK5AjG.jpg[/t]
Those look like the normal AF gear, I could be wrong, but pretty sure those are the first AF you get.
How does FFXIV compare to say GW2 or WoW? I know its only in beta atm but it looks really interesting and I'm thinking of buying it
How does FFXIV compare to say GW2 or WoW?
Those look like the normal AF gear, I could be wrong, but pretty sure those are the first AF you get.
Im fairly sure the bard one at least is different, the bit on her left leg is much shorter. also i dont think the first AF weapons glow, i could be wrong however. The Paladin one does just look re-coloured. but i dig it.
So is artifact gear like the best gear you can currently have, or is it more like a set that you gather before raiding?
Those look like the normal AF gear, I could be wrong, but pretty sure those are the first AF you get.
These are definitely the new AFs, without wanting to sound like a twat I'll list the differences for you - Original - Bard AF was green not white Dragoon AF didn't have the blue glowing bits White mage AF didn't have the red trim Not sure about Monk but those black trims seem new Paladin AF didn't have the blue tabard and super-white shoulders/gloves Black Mage AF didn't have the white gloves and white ends to the neck/shoulder feather Warrior AF definitely wasn't that red, nor did it have red ends to the horns. Scholar AF is green Dunno about summoner I haven't seen enough of their standard AF. There is also the previously mentioned point of the relics glowing which the normal ones definitely don't do. You get these particular sets by gathering Allagan Tombstones of Mythology, which presumably drop from incredibly hard FATES and Dungeons. I don't think this applies to relic +1 though.
So is artifact gear like the best gear you can currently have, or is it more like a set that you gather before raiding?
Standard Artifact gear, the stuff you get for completing your job quests, is supposed to set you up for raiding/hard mode primal hunting. So with your standard AF you'd be able to farm dungeons for Darklight armour and Primals for primal weapons. You'd use the items above to then presumably obtain relics which would then be used to get Allagan armour and weaponry from the binding coil of Bahamut which is meant to be the game launch's hardest dungeon. They've also introduced Artifact gear +1 and relics +1 shown above which so far have the best stats in the game (Or very often matching Allagan gear which is currently the best)
How does FFXIV compare to say GW2 or WoW? I know its only in beta atm but it looks really interesting and I'm thinking of buying it
It more closely resembles your standard MMO, such as WoW, SWTOR, etc. However, it does borrow from other types of games, like GW and GW2 for example. There are no talent trees, just set skills for each class, and attribute points. You are able to borrow certain talents (I believe up to four) from other classes you have leveled. Also, Fates are pretty much carbon copies of the random world group events from GW2 (can't remember what they were called). For anyone playing on Gilgamesh, me and several friends will be on the moment early start begins (4 AM for me). I've got a mumble server setup on an extra machine for Gilgamesh people as well. If anyone is interested in using it, I'll make a Facepunch channel. Also for anyone on Gilgamesh, my friends and I are forming a raiding guild for this game. We've been raiding together for 10 years, and if anyone doesn't have a guild commitment yet, we are pumping numbers. If you want an invite let me know. In-game name is Vecte Tharion. We currently have a vote going for the guild name, and it looks like "Drink The Bleach" is winning, lol.
bleh, contacted support been having so much trouble

And what to Dyrne asked it goes like this Crafted 50/some dungeon gear > AF1> extreme mode(?) > 8man content (primals, bahamut, etc) > 24 man content (Which isn't released yet) We're not sure where AF +1 or AF2 is going to fit in, some think it'll be between 8 and 24man content, as it'll probably have steeper objectives to meet, I think once of the ideas was you'd have to gather specific items from some of the higher end content.

I thought this was amusing, sorry if it's been posted before:
I thought this was amusing, sorry if it's been posted before:
I saw that video earlier today, I had to go to the closet store to buy some heavy duty brawn papertowels to clean all the jizz off my keyboard and desk.
Awh, my friend purchased a second copy, just to make sure i had a headstart code. c:
When does early access start?
When does early access start?
Saturday. 5am EST if I recall correctly
From what I understand, server transfers will be allowed about 3 weeks after launch. I've heard some rumors that only legacy players will be able to transfer to other legacy servers. I believe everyone else is free to go where they want.
Anyone else going to be on Balmung?

(its 9, my character from p4 is level 19. hrm.) For anyone on Gilgamesh, I have a Mumble server open for all Facepunch members and friends. IP is 174.75.123.110, and it's the default port. There is a Facepunch channel available. Also, for any playing on Gilgamesh that does not have a Free Company (guild) commitment, our Free Company is open to all Facepunch members. Tentatively, the Free Company will be called, "Drink The Bleach". My name in game is Vecte Tharion, so feel free to send me a tell. I will be on as soon as the servers are available, and will be playing all weekend.
