It's the name of a character I want to make for a video game. I came up with her when I was around 14 years old (21 now). I've had a few commissions drawn of her as well.
Ichigo is Japanese for Strawberry, which my character has strawberry-colored hair. Chidori was the name of one the characters in Full Metal Panic. I was reading the Manga at the time and didn't care for it too much, but I liked the name and it stuck with me.
Finally got my early access code. I can start playing when I get home from work later. I hope I can get into Hyperion.

I've been considering doing this but I know I'll just get annoyed that I wasted time on the JP servers once the NA servers are working in a stable manner.

So since Squeenix have been withholding my early access key I'm probably only going to get it at release, but is there a way to download it prior without any code, (I'm [B]not[/B] talking piracy), but so I have it ready to go when it is released?
I have quite slow download speeds (< 700kb/s) and I don't want to have to wait 10 hours after release to be able to play.

Not officially as far as I know.
If I remember correctly you need to login on the launcher to start the download.
My download speeds are roughly the same and it took around 3 hours I believe, the game is only 8gb, so it's not that crazy.

Damn. I might request a refund from the Squeenix store and get it elsewhere. If I buy an american version and register under an american account is there any drawbacks to that? Am I locked to specific servers? It seems green man gaming only has it for American versions and same with Amazon (they only do american downloads anyway). Anywhere else I can get an early access copy?

I bought mine from GmG and you can play on either JP or NA/EU servers, so it doesn't matter.
As a Gladiator, what kind of shield do I want? The tiny ones with tons of block *rate* or the big ones with tons of block *strength*?

If you pre-ordered from SE, you needed to generate the code yourself. The page that pops up after you checkout has a code near the bottom that's in a, XXXXXX-XXX-XXXXXX-XXX format. You click the link by it, and enter that code and it generates you an early access key (which is also emailed to you). You won't get an early access code until you enter in that 18-digit code.

Rate is typically better because that increases your chances of blocking an attack. Strength is how much damage you can actually block.
I had a fairly solid connection all weekend on Gilgamesh. Of course, I got hit by the maintenance a couple of times, but I think I only had 1-2 disconnects. I managed to get halfway through 29.
I saw a few people mentioning high level people. This weekend I saw...Level 47 Dragoon, Level 49 Black Mage, Level 50 Warrior, and a Level 50 Bard.
10 more PUG levels to do then it's bard time. \o/
Enjoying playing, though i found it absurd how long it takes to be able to learn fishing.
doing level 10 character quest for other guilds was long enough fir a side profession, but then having to go through all the story stuff to get to the city where fishing guild is was a joke. i think im in the city for mining now but im less fussed about that
I thought the devs said that fishing should be a long-term side hobby to do when you're waiting for friends or just kicking back and chatting with your linkshell/free company, not necessarily something you gotta max out fast

The best way to judge an MMO is by the fishing. if you cant fish within the first 1-2 hours then theres gonna be problems!
though since unlocking fishing ive found it pretty good, only got the 1 bait type so far but i like the idea of knowing what to use where, and the separate skills for cast and hook. line tension and stuff would be good too but hey, its one of the best mmo fishing minigames ive had, shame it takes so long to get.
the gathering and creating professions only require the level 10 class quest to be done, but fishing, the skill of kings is held out of reach untill the elders deem you worthy of such power
So does anyone know how I'm to get my CE items? I only got the pre-order items in moogle-mail but nothing else...

Its only CE items for people with the 1.0 CE flag. assuming youve preordered a realm reborn, you should get CE items in the coming days

Games not officially out yet, im sure there will be a referal/trial thing soon enough
