Really enjoying this game when I can play without horrendous connection issues. Game completely poops out when NA wakes up.

Anyone in the UK play on a BT connection, there's a theory going around that because of FFXIVs p2p connections the game becomes unplayable due to lag between 7pm and 11pm because of BTs p2p throttling.

Turns out I'm a fucking idiot and forgot to check GameStop. Whoops. (For the record GameStop does, in fact, have it).

I do and that's almost the time where I thought the server must've been getting completely boned. I've got it in my mind that at about half 6 the connection just goes nuts.

...maybe I'll wait to install it then.

Just got my copy digitally from gamestop (because nobody nearby had the goddamn physical version). The best buy I tried to get it from was completely unhelpful, the website listed it as In Stock and when I went to pick it up, they ran around for about 30 minutes before telling me they didn't have it for PC. I guess thats what happens when you don't call :suicide:

I'm fairly certain the friends system is disabled too? My list appears empty at the moment.

honestly if they don't give some kind of compensation for time lost due to excessive maintenances and unable to create characters, i'd be really disappointed. Because for all the people who can't log in or create their characters, the "30 days free" is probably more like "25 days or less free". I understand that a lot of MMO launches are pretty terrible, but if they consider this period of time as burning into the 30 free days that's kind of dumb. I guess i'll wait and see what happens.

I forgot to say that I was so stoked that the best buy had it in stock, that I decided to walk all the way over there, about 26 NYC blocks. Since they didn't have it, I went to the nearest gamestop, another 15~ blocks. Before you ask, yes I had a metrocard, but I decided not to use it. Fuck.

I'm wondering if I should wait to install it, because with the server situation what it is right now I don't want to waste that free month of membership or whatever. What do you think?

I wanna remake my character, but the server my friend is playing on is on lockdown, which includes all the other NA and EU servers. Guess I'll wait for the server expansion to finish.

Wow some servers are actually up for creation. But not Hyperion. Did you guys really have to choose the most crowded server? And I love that not many JP servers are full, only NA/EU. :downs:

judging by that chart, it's not even close to the most crowded. My guess is they severely underestimated how many people would choose to go with a legacy server

You know, I only JUST realised. I can't see particles. Such as ability effects; Hell, I can't even see WATER SPRITES. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? I'm 100% I have this stuff enabled in the options. Edit: Incase it matters, my GPU is an ATI Radeon HD 4850 (I can run the game at about 30 average FPS which is fine for me with games like this) EDIT: Fixed it! I went into my GPU Settings and reset 3D settings to default.

do you need a legacy character to play on a legacy server? or is being able to use a legacy character on a legacy server and not a normal one the only difference?

You don't need to be legacy to play on a legacy server. Legacy players were put on those servers for a reason. Legacy players won't be able to transfer to a non-legacy server for a few months, however server transfers will probably be allowed in the next few weeks, which will let legacy members move to different legacy servers. Normal players can go where they want.

So the economy isn't super fresh. But unless you're a gold farmer, and powerleveled your way to the top of the server in the first day and plan on trying to manipulate the market to gain money, there's really no reason to play on a non-legacy server.

i'm gonna try and get on either hyperion or balmung, i've got friends on both i think i'll roll a paladin, i'm good at tanking and i really like what the endgame armor looks like on my roegadyrn whatever the fuck they're called my only complaint is that they don't kill things as quickly as glass cannons do, but that's the point of tanks i guess
