Why does JP get such nice servers... I can log into Durandel (my legacy's server) anytime I want apparently whereas I haven't been able to get on my main on Cactuar all day.

I'll wait until JP primetime to make a sound judgement but I've heard things about SE paying more attention to JP than NA/EU.
From what I've understood, SE JP is somewhat taking a hands off approached and letting NA/EU SE deal with their own servers. Basically Square Enix of Japan is taking care of their servers and letting NA/EU Square Enix take care of their own. The reason it is taking so long, because SE JP is sending support to the NA/EU data center but only after NA/EU made it clear they were overwhelmed, which in turn means if they continue doing this, every major problem NA/EU has will have to go through proper channels before SE JP does something, This was not the case for FFXI when SE JP was over all the servers.
I wish all AFKer's computers would BSOD right now.
Shit's going to end up a vicious cycle where I stop being courteous and do it too. (Pretty sure it's already happened.)

fuck, I've not recieved my registration code for FFXIV, i've pre-ordered it, got my pre-order bonuses and my early access, and all of a sudden, after the game released, I can't play until I get a registration code which I have not recieved... now I'm putting up a ticket about this.

did you buy it from the square enix store (through digital river?) If so, look up your order on the square enix store, and you can find your registration code there. Then enter it on the mogstation on the main FFXIV website.

oh and before i forget, when entering the code in mogstation, click on the little FFXIV icon with a + next to it, not "add service account". You want to add time to your FFXIV service, not make a new one.

I just downloaded the game and managed to make my character. Now that I'm supposed to choose my server all the servers are full and I can't pick any because they're "Restricted".
Does anyone know a fix for this?

Buying digital right now is stupid anyway because actually playing the game is impossible due to horrible servers.
Yeah it'll probably do me a favour in the long run, they should be fixed/in the process of being fixed by the time it arrives!

Got headpiece, gloves, legs and feet from a single quest. Body piece is obtainable from my last Monk quest at lvl 50.

I played this back in 2011 during the "Legacy" version of the game. I returned today and managed to put a few hours in to it and it's a huge improvement over the first version. I have also spoken to a few friends and watched a few Twitch streams and there seems to be plenty of end-game content to go around. I would suggest getting this, but Square Enix are having a horrible re-launch and the servers are completely messed up. I would suggest trying to find it retail and wait a few days for them to fix their servers. It took me about 6 hours to get in, make a character and pick a server to play on.

Does this mean they might open up digital sales again?
I want to get in on this but no physical copies and the digital being not sold is rather hampering.
