Bethesda is forcing websites to pull unfavorable reviews of Fallout: New Vegas
Was just about to say that! or the source engine
Source engine wouldn't really work for a free roaming game
I've only had one bug where a guy was stood inside a rock but besides that, no crashes or anything else.
Some websites are holding the reviews until the ad campaign blows over.
Maybe Bethesda shouldn't use a shitty engine for their games.
It's 2010, and you still cannot walk in more than 4 directions with an animation to go with it.
umm shut up, valve has been using source for years and its still incredibly outdated, but the games still get praised.
Who cares about bugs, Oblivion was full of tons and it was one of the best games I have ever played. And Fallout is awesome, Bethesda is probably angry because they give it shit reviews because of some bugs. I am 100% sure that the game will be extremely fun.
It seems with each of Bethesda's games the gameplay quality is weighed out perfectly with bugs.
I can understand why as they are going to fix the bugs that would have been mentioned in the reviews

Probably TES:V has it.
It better do, this game is the one I'm waiting the most. More than EP3 even
The only bugs I've encountered are the save bug, invisible unkillable enemies (only once), and some CTDs. The CTDs don't bother me though, since they really are pushing an old, bad engine to its limits. The former two will probably be fixed soon. NV is sort of buggy at launch, but not game breaking. There will be patches.

The reason Valve's engine still stands today is the fact that they keep updating it, and it can still do most things they want. Gamebryo, however, has a ton of engine limits. You can't have diagonal running animations, everything is really jerky, and something about not being able to insert animations in certain places, such as cocking a gun if you completely empty it and reload. Gamebryo is just bad, no question.

These are not engine limitations, these are just lazy developers
There's the 3rd freeze
oh god
I just picked up FIRE.
No, no sticks, there was a fire burning after a explosion and I picked it up and walked around with it
Ahaha what
System requirements are way to high for what you get, Some bugs here and there.
But you know what? I FUCKING LOVE IT!
The reason Gamebryo was used for New Vegas was because it was used for Fallout 3, the reason it was used for Fallout 3 is because it was used for Oblivion and worked fairly well for what Bethesda wanted to do. It's definitely showing it's age, but you can't exactly switch engines for a game that's basically a very expanded expansion pack.
And aside from the bugginess which honestly I expect with large sandbox games, it's a pretty good engine for what FO3 and NV wanted to do, plus it's a fairly open modding platform.
If Bethesda is working on ESV it'll be on a new engine that you can be sure of.

Nobody gives a shit, pirating of software happens, and not every pirate does it just to be a dirty thief. Besides, you see a demo somewhere? I don't. I pirated Spore just like he did. The game sucked dick, I deleted it. If it had been good, I would have bought it. Like I said, not every pirate is a thief.

firstly, good to see your of the same opinion as I am. secondly the pain of Spore was that i brought it, oh god why.
Bethesda makes great games, they just suck at making them
Oh god, 8 landmines and a grenade blew me up, showed me still in first person, I lost all my limbs and crippled everything, took a few steps then fell over dead as the entire surrounding was flashing violently
What the hell
Reviewers:Are you sure you want us to remove bad reviews?
Bethesda: Yes, of course!

duck and cover and no mutants allowed still in denial that fo3 is a fallout game?
haven't change one bit i see
If Bethesda made this, people would cry out their gaping pussies and combat would not be right, but since Obsidian made this, we've got bugs up the recently-renovated ass. It's a lose-lose situation in an otherwise marvelous game.

Agreed. I hate Gamebryo. Why can't they just use another engine. Anything beats Gamebryo as far as I am concerned.
There is however, one game that uses Gamebryo in a good way. Defense Grid: The Awakening looks and runs great with it's version and it has proper shadows too! Of course, it's not a large open ended RPG either but still.

Oh look, actual shadows!
I haven't trusted reviews in a long time because they have all turned into critics. So its all good for bethesda to pull them.
Also if you're complaining about graphics if you looked the game world is huge and making a brand new engine takes a long time. Look at duke nukem forever they always keep updated the engine and it took forever.
I, like many others agree on the fact that gameplay > graphics/tech. But GameBryo is so horrible. When strafing you literally slide across the ground. I mean come on?! Apparently there is some engine limit on the amount of animations a character can have. Now that.. is just pure shit.
I don't trust critics..
Is this Fallout 3.1 (nuff said) or are there some big changes in the game that makes it worth buying?
Gameplay has COMPLETELY changed. There is a crafting system, setting up your own campsite, general survival, weapon modifications, different ammo types, different animations.
The storyline is of Black Isle quality, hundreds of new voice actors, better map, more of that classic fallout humor and pop culture references. Also the game is much harder. I never had to run from enemies, or avoid enemies before in FO3. In New Vegas, I had to be smart to survive.
This is what is so wrong with the industry as it currently stands. You release a buggy, imperfect product, you want the PUBLIC critics to recall their reviews until you get your shit together?
How about fucking fixing the issues before releasing it to the public at large, and then everyone would be happy, hm?

It's still copyright violation.
Of course, that doesn't mean there aren't good reasons for it, same with anything.

Those are tweaks, you still run around iron sightning, using vacs to take pot shot at heads, and you still have similar conversation options.
Those are additions, but nothing really /really/ changes how the game is played.
I love the fact that I can take all my useless 5mm, 5.56, 10mm and 9mm rounds and convert them into usable materials to make .357 and shotgun shells with. It's like crafting in tf2, but not shit and cash-cow'd.
I'm gonna wait for them to fix the bugs first before I buy this.
yea i realized that when people cried about gta4 being a terrible port and yet my game run just fine, along with saint's row 2
[editline]21st October 2010[/editline]
still you'd think EVERYONE would get the same bugs if the game is so HORRIBLY BUGGY
Because apparently, if the game doesn't work on a Dual Core it's a bad port.
Games are going to have to demand more power one day.

gta4 and sr2 WAS a bad port. If it runs on a console better than my computer which is almost 2 times better, it's a shitty port
Ever since Bethesda bought out id, they have access to Id Tech 5 game engine.
I hope to god for their next games they are developing that they are using Id tech 5, because that actually looks like a really really good engine.
Brink is being made in-house by bethesda right? What engine is that using?
I think it's being made by Splash Damage, who were bought and absorbed into Bethesda.
Just looked it up, it's being developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda. It's important to differentiate between the developer (Bethesda Game Studios) and the publisher (Bethesda Softworks).
