• Bethesda is forcing websites to pull unfavorable reviews of Fallout: New Vegas
While this sort of thing is dangerous, I don't see it as a complete abuse of power. The thing is, reviews are integral to the sales of one's game. If a big reviewer is irresponsible and gives a review that's unfair (drastically dropping the score for minor flaws, or bugs that are soon to be fixed), I can see how it might be not-so-bad for the developer/publisher to attempt to mitigate losses.
Giving a game a bad review for bugs that have been around in the game's previous installment is warranted, imo.
I don't see how anyone would buy this piece of garbage, ever. It's not worth a penny, it feels extremely cheap. I haven't ever played Fallout 3, and it didn't really drag my attention either.
So then why the fuck are you judging it? You don't fucking judge a game by previews.
I think the only reason people have an issue with Fallout 3 and New Vegas' technical problems with it's engine is because it's technically a AAA title. Lesser known games like STALKER have bugs and unoptimized ugly engines but they're still loved to death by the people who play them.
So then why the fuck are you judging it? You don't fucking judge a game by previews.
How can you judge a game without buying it then? Do you buy every game that's ever been made?
I did play New Vegas, and in MY opinion it's a piece of shit, and I'm sure alot of people agree. I'm not talking storywise, as I don't give a shit about it, but it's a buggy piece of unfinished crap that should have been polished back in 2008 even when the engine still sucked.
at least, they should have made anims for diagonal walking.
How can you judge a game without buying it then? Do you buy every game that's ever been made?
Maybe he just doesn't judge every game that's ever been made.
Maybe he just doesn't judge every game that's ever been made.
This.
The bugginess of Gamebryo combined with the buggy nature of Obsidian's creations has managed to make the buggiest, best game to ever exist.
best game to ever exist.
Have to stop you there bro, you did not just say New Vegas is the best game to ever exist!
I have yet to encounter any game-breaking bugs, however the funny bugs ease the tension.
Have to stop you there bro, you did not just say New Vegas is the best game to ever exist!
People have different opinions
first off I haven't encountered any of the bugs people complain about, and I've played for at least 20 hours since release. second, there shouldn't be unfavorable reviews because it's that fucking awesome [editline]21st October 2010[/editline] the only bug I've seen is where a small radscorpion spawned in the ground, but that's plagued just about every open-world game ever.
Different computers have different bugs
Maybe he just doesn't judge every game that's ever been made.

This.
Then how do you decide which games to buy? roll the dice?
I usually take about 5 different reviews, account for the differences, negatives, and positives. I decide my own score based on certain things, then I give it my own final score.
Guys, do you know why FO3 didn't have ladders? Because it was impossible to make ladders without the loading screen. Nice engine!
the CUBE mod for FO3 had working ladders. They were hacky, but they worked.
Then how do you decide which games to buy? roll the dice?
Friends, reviews, etc. I mostly take my friend's side as him and I have the same tastes in games.
This has turned into a pretty bland discussion. Judging a game based on your own thoughts and opinions are fair to me, people can't really change how one and another thinks.
Friends, reviews, etc. I mostly take my friend's side as him and I have the same tastes in games.
This is judgment without experience. Q.E.D. EDIT: I'm only pointing this out because you berated someone for doing something similar, btw.
i dont see whats so unfinished about the game
i dont see whats so unfinished about the game
I don't want to start talking about the massive amount of bugs in the game, but with animations like oblivion all over again, I don't see how people can keep accepting it. We're in 2010 now, kermits facial expressions are plastered all over bethesdas' characters in every game they make. Imagine if they released an expansion for gta 3, with the exact same graphics but a different story in 2010. That's what this has turned into, and many people are falling for it.

I don't call games that I haven't played garbage that isn't worth a penny. How is it NOT a sequel besides the mere fact it uses the same engine? I guess fallout 2 was just an expansion too, hey lets go ahead and say every game that uses the same engine as it's predecessor is only an expansion.
Your game and PC Specs =/= Other people's
Hey yea because old hardware causes programming errors [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline]
oh wow you are just so incredibly ignorant "this game is an expansion because it uses the same engine" The game has a different story, expanded gameplay elements, new location, new characters, new quests(more; even). Oblivion, stop posting
I have a fucking annoying bug that hides the viewmodel for me. I've accidentally shot people (and having to reload a save) like 10 times. Wow. But I think that's my fault more than Vegas fault. I play in windowed mode, and pull up the steam community tab and THEN I alt-tab out of the game to check fp or whatever. Seems to break the viewmodel of certain weapons.
I fucking hate people calling New Vegas an "expansion" and "should have been DLC". It's the EXACT same formula that sequels have been using for the last 20 years, there's nothing wrong with it at all. I thought the point of a sequel was to be a very similar game with a new story/character(s)/setting and that's exactly what this is + some additional nice extras like ironsights and weapon modding. Half Life 2 did this. Bioshock 2 did this. Ratchet and Clank 2 did this. Mass Effect 2 did this. Guitar Hero 2 did this. Left 4 Dead 2 did this. I could go on. What's the point in completely changing the formula? The only thing that would result in would be EVEN MORE complaining because the game would feel too different and it'd have been a missed oppurtunity due to how good Fallout 3 was. I'm glad they've used and improved the same formula because it worked so fantastically well, and a whole new story/location/quests is so much more than I could have asked for.
i haven't run into many bugs yet one time i fell through the map while backpedaling with my incinerator so i had to use tcl
