its actually due to engine limitations
Then alter the engine? Fuck it's so old anyway that is certainly not an issue. [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline]
I don't understand why people complain about this, playing in third person view in this game is terrible. I always play first person.
It's not just that, nearly EVERY animation is just horrid, reload animations, switching weapons, other characters etc etc
I don't trust critics.. Is this Fallout 3.1 (nuff said) or are there some big changes in the game that makes it worth buying?
People need to stop saying that Fallout New Vegas is the same game as Fallout 3. Ocarina of time and majora's mask had the same graphics and engine, with a different story, new items and characters just like New Vegas. I hate the direction gamers are going. [editline]23rd October 2010[/editline]
I wish they did. FP seems reasonably big. :saddowns:
Go anywhere except Facepunch and ask people if they know what it is. Most of the time it's nope or I'm from 4chan facepunch sucks.
just play the game for what it is dont cry about animations try it, trust me you might actually enjoy a game for once
I can't deny I thoroughly enjoyed Fallout 3 but this just feels like the same thing, what are any redeeming qualities for me to purchase another $60 game? I just don't see any notable "upgrades" to anything, and the ones I do see (iron sights, city) look very poorly done
gee maybe the 15+ hours of quests? aren't those an 'upgrade' if you want a game thats got some meat on its bones this is that game ive been playing constantly since tuesday and i still have quests not seen or endings i haven't seen
In a sandbox game added quests just doesn't cut it for me, feels like a humongous expansion pack with a few added models and textures, if even that. I mean sure I will more than likely be getting this game but damnit it just pisses me off they had so much time but failed to really improve on anything.
This game sucks. (User was banned for this post: Unfavorable review (Bethesda))
Wow I actually thought some mod renamed himself Bethesda and banned you, since you are banned now.
It's an outdated, poorly made piece of shit. But it's also very fun.
The amount of freezes/crashes I'm getting are ruining the experience :saddowns:
yea i realized that when people cried about gta4 being a terrible port and yet my game run just fine, along with saint's row 2 [editline]21st October 2010[/editline] still you'd think EVERYONE would get the same bugs if the game is so HORRIBLY BUGGY
Saints Row 2 for PC was an absolutely atrocious port. If you run it on Windows 7 it basically runs in fast forward mode.
3 crashes in the last 30+ hours. :smug:
3 crashes in the last 30+ hours. :smug:
That's 3 more crashes than I've had in most of the games I've ever played.
1 Crash and that was because I opened up the Steam overlay. The only thing that bothered me that is not gameplay related was the fact that I had to download a .dll so my computer could run New Vegas without lagging.

I still wonder how the hell they can force them to remove the reviews, we have freedom of speech.
I personally think that bethesdas use of the same engine over and over is commendable, it shows that they actually care about making games rather than paintings/tech demos. Although I do hope that New Vegas is the last one with this engine.
well you know game
I still wonder how the hell they can force them to remove the reviews, we have freedom of speech.
Once you realize "Rights" are not absolute, the world starts to make sense.
This explains why the Gamespot review went from "great atmosphere but game-crushing bugs" to "the few technical errors don't sully this outstanding experience". I thought I was going crazy or something :/
The only reliable reviewer(Critic) is Zero Punctuation. He covers his games well. He won't take shit from no one.

I thought I was going crazy or something :/
No it didn't. "Major technical problems blemish this enjoyable and sophisticated adventure through the western wastes." - Xbox 360/PS3 reviews. "A few technical problems aren't enough to sully this enjoyable and sophisticated adventure through the western wastes." - PC version, which was reviewed much later than the console versions.
Am I the only one who doesn't give a fuck about diagnal walk animations?
Just checked Gamesradar. They have a guide for collecting the snowglobes but not a review. Guess the reason.
What? It is there.
Saints Row 2 for PC was an absolutely atrocious port. If you run it on Windows 7 it basically runs in fast forward mode.
then why did my saints row 2 fun flawlessly with windows 7?
Am I the only one who doesn't give a fuck about diagnal walk animations?
nope, i usually play in the first person anyway
The only reliable reviewer(Critic) is Zero Punctuation. -snip- That was odd.. I meant to post this in a totally different topic! Sorry guys!
I've clocked 25 hours of gameplay on the PC version and I've had only a single crash and one noteworthy bug, the fuck are you all on about?
I've clocked 25 hours of gameplay on the PC version and I've had only a single crash and one noteworthy bug, the fuck are you all on about?
How about you realize that you're not the only one playing the game
How about you realize that you're not the only one playing the game
At this point, bugs in a Bethesda game are more of a feature to be expected than a deviance. And to be honest if this is all I'm experiencing, either my luck is through the roof or everyone is blowing it out of proportion, at least on the PC version.
i crashed before i edited my load order (VIA A TEXT FILE WHAT THE FUCK MODDERS WHERE IS FVMM) not at all now
Strange, I haven't crashed a single time and I've played it alot. Only thing that bugs the hell out of me is some of the ironsights. I swear some of them are just horrible, I can't hit anything no matter where I point the goddamn thing
Some of them are very annoying, the cowboy repeater, assault rifle and service rifle to name a few but unless you're playing on a console, just take your time and aim. Weapon quality has a play too, if a gun is near breaking point it's not gonna be very accurate, and if you're not strong enough to hold the gun it will sway extra much. Basically just find something like a bar with loads of bottles lined up and have some target practice, you'll get used to it soon. And once you do, there are few things more satisfying than hundred yard headshots with ironsights.
